Re: Corona Virus

Once the pandemic has passed, the economies of the world will regain strength again. In fact, there will be a massive surge trying to get back to normalcy. What? Literally every economist out there is saying the complete opposite of you. A long and slow recovery. What suddenly makes you an expert o...

Re: Corona Virus

We are doomed. The virus will not kill that many people in the grand scheme of things. The coming economic collapse however, is likely to put Western Civilization into the same position the Soviets found themselves in post collapse. The US debt, combined with the economic shutdown and low oil price...

A further expansion: Air traffic service (ATS) frequencies are published in the Canada Flight Supplement (CFS), in the Canada Air Pilot (CAP), and on aeronautical charts. Frequency 123.4 MHz is allocated for the use of soaring activities, which include balloons, gliders, sailplanes, ultralights and ...

The hot exhaust from a recently parked vehicle could have easily caught the grass on fire. It's florida, it can be tinder dry and the fire would spread too quickly to do anything but watch.

Re: Trauma reducing bucking bars. Worth it?

If I was doing a lot of bucking it might be a game changer. There is no doubt that repetitive use can be crippling.

A cheaper alternative might be a good pair of impact reducing gloves, then your hammer hand is protected too.

Re: cylinder fin paint

Technically, the manufacturer should list approved specs and processes. I can't recall ever having painted a cylinder myself but you could order high temp engine paint from a few places. The tempo product you listed, I didn't see a Mil spec, I know they make a spec'd primer though. 500 deg f is pret...

AOC's cant be sold I know the point you're making, but the shares in a company that holds an AOC can be sold, as long at the Canadian ownership ratio remains within the minimums. I'm sure you know that distinction and you're right, you can't sell airplanes and the AOC in a package. Used to be able ...

Re: Cessna Alternator Warning Light

The Cessna "high voltage light" is a bit of a misnomer. When it comes on, all it's saying is that the alternator has been taken off-line, and isn't producing current any more. That's all. Now, one cause of the alternator being taken off line is over-voltage. This is a very good point. Most pilots w...

Tourism is currently shut down, there will still be a couple of essential projects but hiring will be nil. If you can get a job, period, you're doing good. There are going to be a lot of overqualified applicants now looking to keep the rust off too. Check back next year, hopefully we'll have this sh...

10,000,00 die each year in China.

I don't understand those zeros

:smt120
I'd give that number a solid 5/7
In 2018, almost 10 million people died in China with a death rate of 7.12 per 1000 people.

In 2018 the USA had a death rate of 8.685 per 1000 people.

Was just about to post this. They’ve delivered twice as many urns so far than that claimed death toll, and on the current delivery schedule it will be 40 000 delivered urns in 10 days. The Chinese are clearly hiding their real number. But so long as the borders are closed, it’s really their own pro...

2 months ago, i sent in an application and a cheque for the fee.

1 month ago I received a government envelope containing a carbon copy, handwritten receipt for the cheque and absolutely nothing else.

Was the application accepted? rejected? Who knows, probably won't know until i renew again.

Of course there will be layoffs, just not as quickly and not as many.

Good engineers are hard to find, they won't be dumped. Dead weight first, then real decisions need to be made.

There has been a real shortage before this, it might catch up now.
