Re: Wabusk Air C-FDOY in CYYU

It does tend to indicate an incomplete cycle; short of the physical locks. The A100 has a complete interlocking system which tends to prevent locking of all three, as apposed to just one. A single false reading is possible, So is an actuation failure of just the nose, via chain fail. It's more likel...

Do my fornications in Denver count?

Once I realized that all of Denver and all places up-on-high, had entered the race...I lost all interest in the numbers...

How about a mile-LOW club? Can't have very many members...

Re: Night Medevacs

Night or day you still have to be able to see the runway through the whole circling procedure to final to make a safe landing. That'd be nice..welcome to the black hole... Take it easy there guys, this is just a forum, and we're chatting here. It could be sky clear, the only light, is now behind me...

Re: Night Medevacs

STARS Air Ambulance uses NVGs. Of course, putting them in something that is capable of hovering just about anywhere might be a little easier than a King Air. NIGHT VISION GOGGLES (NVG) In 2003, STARS flew a mission to carry a patient from southeastern Alberta to Calgary utilizing Night Vision Goggl...

Re: Night Medevacs

Obviously you're not going to go full-tactical BNVGs. http://www.opticsplanet.com/night-owl-tctical-g1-goggles-nobg1.html Psss Anyway, yea, why don't we just keep complaining about having to circle at 500 into a blackhole visually, while IFR!! Meanwhile a G5 gets the latest EV IR prototype system mo...

Re: Night Medevacs

I think your time would be better spent advocating for enhanced vision for the job at hand. I agree with what you're saying though, night is dangerous; yes. Will code 1's 2's ever be delayed due to darkness? Nope. What's wrong with head mounted night vision units? Turn night into day. A good unit wi...

Re: Have you ever landed gear up?

Common sense, situational awarness and pre planning is what prevents unnecessary accidents. No, it is not. It's experience, and a willingness to operate the aircraft outside of the SOPs, is what prevents unnecessary accidents. Proven time and again. Our SOPs for approach require active airspeed cal...

Re: Have you ever landed gear up?

I find the comments and reasoning to be very interesting. The only thing I don't agree with is leaving the gear down because you are afraid you will forget to put it down. Missing the gear was a pretty rare mistake and I doubt they'll do it again in a similar scenario but if these guys had been doin...

Re: Skydive King Air lands gear up

Sure, it comes from the old adage, "it's in the bag"; I got this in the bag... Which has history, in hunting, later military... Later picked up as adage in industry, the bag; referred to as being one for "tools".. Which was ironic, cu'z then they had two.. :smt040 The one being referred to, filled w...

There is a full information site for the Ontario Tenancy Act. G it. Make sure to fill out your N9 form and give it to the Landlord. Any lease can legally be broken at any time; one year as well. But, you have to know your rights and resposibilities. Everything is on the site. If he has rented it ear...

Re: Skydive King Air lands gear up

Push props could be a requirement depending on the type cat. Dual low pitch stop factory props vs single modified with the 4 blade H's. Regardless of the mechanical function, the master caution will annunciate to read that reverse/props are not ready. Has to do with the prevention of spool down. Not...

Re: Have you ever landed gear up?

I agree 100%. iflyforpie One should always be actively aware of the configuration of the aircraft, but more importantly, why it has been configure in that way; brief it. Where people get into trouble, I THINK, is for the exact reason that an FTU would argue against. REPETITION-type learning/experien...

Re: Have you ever landed gear up?

I see that a few guys disagree.. :smt040 That's OK, but check your reasoning. Is it just because "that's the way you've always done it"? Is it deviating from SOPs? I just briefed it, two crew CRM SOP. Is it operationally outside of the AFM? No..You can fly around with the gear hanging out. Let me hi...

Re: Have you ever landed gear up?

As I've said before, and I'll say it again. The most STUPID training SOP VIA ever...in the industry, In the circuit? In a RG? Is to retract the gear. Proven time and again. Why would you cycle the gear whilst in the circuit...pretty damn stupid... I think the latest case was the 415 whilst training;...

Nice topic change for the forum, and glad to see that you are doing so well these days. I've been there a few times. It's hard, if not impossible to enlighten others to the experience. It's a story, and words simply do not communicate the meaning. How could they? Time crawl. An interesting thing. Mi...

Funny that I missed this the first time around.

I just went through the same thing. I read into your problem.

I never argued with any ruling or decision. Just go through the process. It takes a LONG time to even get to see someone of importance.

Last week I got the cat1 in the mail. :prayer:
