Re: Turn That Master Off For a Forced Approach

Saw a Curtis 46 stuck in the soft soil of 08 in YRL years ago . After it had an engine issue and Wallowed back to earth . It was flying gasoline . One of the pilots was a big guy and jumped out of the plane he told me he sank up to his knees in the soft ground. The other pilot who had not jumped out...

Re: The Return to Normal?

The guy in charge of that Laboratory in Downtown Winnipeg is Dead .
We may never know why his Laboratory allowed these shipments .
The spooks have a name for such deaths , been so long since I heard it . Something nautical to do with balance . John La Carre used it in TTSS .

Re: The Return to Normal?

It will be interesting to see what the new normal looks like . With over 1300 hundred variants to this one virus and its crippling effects on survivors . The Zombie Apocalypse and the Walking Dead may envy the dead . There was a reason why the Geneva Convention banned such weapons that the NIH Funde...

Re: Continental O-470K, loosing compression on number 4 cylinder

What power settings are you using ? 55 , 65 , 75 percent ? 75 percent is recommended for break in . Anything less and it is not gonna break in . Red lines are objectives not limitations in a break in period :) Once firmly broken in running the 65 numbers should get to TBO and beyond if you avoid sho...

Ask the Doctor to use two fingers . That way you can get a second opinion , right away :) Or....ask the Doctor while he is up in there, to check and see if he can find your dignity :-) You know you are in trouble when ATC asks how many souls onboard , I was thinking did I lose mine ? or did it get ...

Re: Snowbird crash in CYKA

The first time I was shown the impossible 180 EFATO turn was at two hundred feet in Cessna by a TC class one instructor who used to run the flight school in Kamloops . He was also a Funeral Director . I am reluctant to demonstrate it to most pilots , as the average pilot has a better survival rate l...

Interesting article, he speaks like a true academic , if you are fluent in academia ,what he said is as clear as the funding withdrawal for the lab his organization built . POLITICO NIH director: ‘No way of knowing’ if coronavirus escaped from Wuhan lab "Nature created this virus, and has proven onc...

Re: The Return to Normal?

Hiring cycles were: 1973-1974 1978-1980 1985-1990 1995-2000 2005-2008 2010-2020 Avg break between cycles was 4-5 years and for the most part coincided with recession in the economic cycle. The last decade been an anomaly. Hopefully the length of this recession will be an anomaly as well. Or I picke...

Re: Snowbird replacement aircraft

All the way where ?
A design almost as old as the Tutor ,
The only thing it has going for it is twin engines .

Who would sell us a sixth generation laser gun equipped fighter ? Maybe we could build the future , an Arrow 2.
Look to the future , not to the past .

To Infinity and Beyond :)

What kind of camera was used that showed what could be a small object anomaly ? Some digital cameras use frequencies for imaging that capture more than is displayed in the video and the device may have more useful data that may be retrieved and enhanced revealing more useful data ? Re: Snowbird crash in CYKA

Does the parachute system have a reserve chute ? I have seen how quick a reserve chute can deploy and it is way quicker than what the video showed the chute opening . A cheap fix might be to look improving the chute , bigger drouge , spring loaded like a reserve , just speculation on my part as I am...

Re: Anyone fly for Macleod aviation yvr

I feel sad for anyone who never got to meet him . I last saw him when I rented a 172 off him to fly up the coast . To an airport that another one of his 172 had an accident the day before . Good times
