Re: Private Air

Like anything, it takes some time getting used too. Generally if you stay sober until dinner time, you’re not going to have an issue. On weekends/evenings, if we happen to get a call for a charter and you’ve already had a drink....guess what, we don’t do the charter, but lets be reasonable adults. I...

Re: Private Air

I would be happy to answer this question. Due to the nature of the owner flights, and a dedicated crew for the airplane, We don’t have a set schedule per se. I can assure you that we far exceed CARS minimums for days off. I can’t imagine a circumstance other than training, where the crew would be wo...

Here’s another sunwing one from this weekend.... My next door neighbours came back from the Dominican on Saturday. They landed and no luggage for The flight came onto the carousel at all. Apparently The airline lost the entire plane load of baggage. Over 48hrs later and still not a word of where the...

It's a pretty badass callsign. I love it when those guys are on freq and you hear the US guys asking what they are flying (thinking it's going to be an A-10 or F-16) and Center comes back....yeah....Citation. Flight deck laughs. S. We always get the last laugh when they ask us to do Mach .79 ...

Re: Tintina Air info

Tintina used to operate a jet for us in Whitehorse with a gravel kit. I had the good fortune to provide line indoc to a new captain spending parts of a few weeks in Whitehorse, doing some of the most fun flying I’ve ever done. Unfortunately that airplane was sold to new owners in Africa. They are Gr...

Re: 'Flightexec' hiring minimums

Digits, it’s pretty expensive to shell out the cost of training and currency for a part timer. My experience has been that part time pilots have a pretty set in stone availability which makes scheduling difficult and exacerbates the cost. In many cases, an owner just doesn’t get a reasonable ROI.

Re: Pilot shortage, how long?

However, It only takes one little glitch in the matrix for it all to stop. Those of you who were fortunate to not be a part of the “looking for work” crowd in 2008-2012 or 2001-2005, or any of the previous furlough eras, may not yet realize just how cyclical this industry is. The cycle never has a d...

Re: FAA ATPL

The reciprocal agreement is still there, but anyone writing the atp or the atp conversion exam has to do the atp-ctp course. It’s a CRM thing and done in classroom and in a >40,000 sim. A type rating course in itself does not necessarily cover the aspects of a CTP course, it is a separate and standa...

604 operators occasionally only require PCC’s with a bi-annual IPC ride. it all depends on the operation.

Is it just me or the images shot from the air on media channels show the wreckage with his body floating beside the plane??? If so, what a disgrace.

I once had an issue like this...ame took the line off and blew some air through it and out popped a very large very dead ant that had blocked the pitot tube. Impossible to see during preflight.

Re: SunwingJets - New Private Jet Service

Exposure.....we are in aviation and know about these things. The vast majority of people have no idea what an FBO is nor do they have any idea how to “rent a plane”. It is a very logical step for both parties because Sunwing has the exposure and the marketing to back them.

Re: SunwingJets - New Private Jet Service

I’m familiar, in fact im in a course with a Delta Private Jets pilot as we type. My comment was more towards the above that seemed to be on the track that Sunwing would have their own division with their own airplanes like DPJ, but actually using Flightexec aircraft.

Look at 6. E) in your FAA document. At the moment, There's no way around doing the CTP course, if you want an FAA ATP, stop trying to re-invent the wheel
