Re: Coronavirus Numbers

It is very interesting that none of the noise on this site is directed at those responsible for the outbreak , and very little constructive critique's of what is to be done :) Just more Marxist support for the Maoists . Not one post critical of the system or President who jailed Doctors and whistle...

Re: Corona Virus

The Chinese CCP ( along with help from the WHO ) has succeeded in weakening the whole world. China has already declared war on the USA and shall do everything in its power to obtain world dominance,,,,, you ain't seen nothing yet folks ! I know, right? Re: Flight school delays - Covid19

I'd be interested in hearing how CFC management enforces social distancing within the confines of a 40" wide light aircraft cabin. It would also be fascinating to hear how they expect instructors, students and renters to "avoid all contact with sick people" when Covid-19 carriers can ...

Re: Were airlines sacrificed for the Nation ?

I can't believe we are having this dialogue of the deaf....... I know the feeling! Between March 15 and April 1,Transat did hundreds of flights at less than 50% capacity Global Affairs had no role in Paying for the flights or organizing them (save for a minute number of flights at the end and proba...

Re: Were airlines sacrificed for the Nation ?

Global affairs had no role, except for a few flights. A minute portion of flights. That's going to come as a surprise to those Global Affairs personnel tasked with responding to inquiries from, and managing the repatriation of, the several hundred thousand to several million Canadians (depending wh...

Re: Were airlines sacrificed for the Nation ?

Like I already wrote, the vast majority of the passengers Transat brought home, came back using the return portion of round trip tickets they had purchased before the crisis. These tickets had been priced on the assumption that the outbound flight would have been nearly full. They were empty. Only ...

Do you have any evidence that all of the above was done for free? I'm not clear how the OP got the impression that Canadian airlines have been forced to do all this flying for free. In fact, press coverage suggests the opposite is true: https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2020/04/02/dont-make-us-pa...

Re: Corona Virus

The blame game is important because it holds people accountable. The onus is on the Chinese government to keep this from happening again. Good luck with enforcing that! How about we all just accept that regardless of how this one started, or who's actually responsible, the onus is on us to ensure t...

Gotta say +1 for Dr. Gillmore. He's been my CAME for 15 years now, and he's quick, efficient, thoroughly professional, and usually has a good joke or funny anecdote ready to boot. Good guy - highly recommended.

Re: Time is of the essence

Debt collectors don't have the power to go after your credit rating, just harass you and threaten you. That depends on what you mean by "going after your credit rating". Licensed collection agencies do in fact report assigned accounts to the various credit bureaus: it's one more way of pr...

Re: Time is of the essence

Sorry, but no: a creditor (in this case, the employer) is not required to obtain a judgment before assigning a debt (in this case, the employee bond) to a collection agency. Note that this does not mean a court would necessarily rule the bond to be enforceable, should recovery efforts include litig...

Re: Time is of the essence

How would not paying out your bond trash a credit rating? Company goes to a collection agency. I admit my knowledge of this is fairly limited, but isn't that only the case after they get a court order? So they would have to prove to a judge the bond is valid. Then, if you still refuse to pay, a col...

Saab guy, I don't need to give you examples since it was just my observation while being employed in the industry with many companies and on contract and seeing how some companies defer often, have multiple ( many) U/S systems on overwater flights, recurring snags that are continually signed off as...

Re: Airworthiness discrepancies.

My intent with the post was to refer to A/C that did not have an MMEL and also to give an example of some airlines who abuse the MMEL. Terrific, except that you haven't actually provided any examples of airlines that misuse the MMEL process - you've just made a fairly serious but completely unsubst...
