Re: Airline employee calls police, threatens group with "no fly" list.

Let me see if I got this straight. Three individuals missed the connection to YQY along with according to the article 2 dozen more. The airline arranged ground transportation for those affected travellers albeit a long drive. There gents in question inquired what their options are. Now by their own...

Re: Airline employee calls police, threatens group with "no fly" list.

http://www.capebretonpost.com/news/local/2016/12/29/cape-breton-bound-air-canada-passengers-threatened-with-no-fly-l.html This account has more detail, and even AC seems to acknowledge something didn't go right near the bottom, and Gabor whoever is taking their side. These were FT Mac workers just w...

I hear AC might need a new Halifax CSR.

Re: C525 goes missing over Lake Erie with 6 aboard

You would think so, but it really does catch people off guard. Your sense of balance is strong and it takes a fair bit of IFR experience to overwrite that with "trust your eyes and what the instruments show." The rating does not prove that you can force your body to go against instinct in every pos...

Re: Airline employee calls police, threatens group with "no fly" list.

Bad service is bad service. Neither airline, nor any crown corporation, has a monopoly on it. Why is this so difficult for CBC to understand? Very true. I think though, threatening to ban people simply for complaining, or expecting the airline to get them home, is way over the top. I'd call that ab...

Re: Airline employee calls police, threatens group with "no fly" list.

For those who don't believe any airline rep could act like that, reread the article. Another woman confirms the account in full. That's three independent witnesses then. All must have called each other, planned out what they would say, all just to get their names in CBC news. Right. Believe what you...

Re: Airline employee calls police, threatens group with "no fly" list.

I'm confused. I thought CBC was a raving socialist fake news outlet :) (Not making any comment on the validity of the facts in this story. It looks like a he said, she said situation). Correct. CBC is a unreserved cheerleader of government funded programs like the formerly, and likely quite possibl...

Re: Airline Staff set to Tazer unruly passengers

Interesting. Please tell us how exactly Goldman Sachs created the subprime crisis and recession. See for example http://fortune.com/2016/04/11/goldman-sachs-doj-settlement/ I'd recommend watching "The Big Short" if you haven't already. I'd suggest reading the book. Same name. I'm in that business. ...

Airline employee calls police, threatens group with "no fly" list.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/air-canada-halifax-sydney-dec-18-flight-missed-no-fly-threat-1.3914148 Yes, once again I'm sure every passenger was an out of control lunatic who deserves to be put on a no fly list, and maybe Tasered, too. Uhmm, OK. Simply for wanting to get home. AC's resp...

Re: Airline Staff set to Tazer unruly passengers

So, according to Rockie, I'm getting robbed right now, as we speak. Now that leaves one of two possibilities; Either Rockie is delusional, and actually sees people in 3 piece suits taking his stuff, or he is speaking figuratively about the system. Our system is for the most part capitalist; Hence R...

Re: TC really cracking down these days...

I do believe it was poor choice of words when they used "over-shot", I expect they meant over-ran... which resulted in questionable airworthiness of the aircraft, possible damage. The subsequient take-off most likely occured without the aircraft being inspected by an approved person i.e. an AME whi...

Re: Caravan in YMM

Question -- is this an old wives tale or true:

How much distance could one gain in that scenario diving for the deck and trying to glide it farther in ground effect?

Would the inefficient dive lower wipe out ground effect gains?

Sounds like something cool to try in a Sim.

Just to be clear, we are talking about tazing pax, not other crew members, right? Because it makes a difference whether I support it or not. Quite amazing that someone can post fake news. Someone can post that it is fake, and people are still discussing it as if it is true! Fake? I'm confused then,...

So, as long as there is training and rules around the deployment of such a device, I can support it. OK, (any) Captain. Your aircraft. You're in command. You're ultimately responsible for what happens, as far as I'm concerned, regardless of whether it was you or a crew member. Allowing weapons on board in your crew's hands is a serious decision -- the usage of which may have serious consequences for all concerned. I...

Rookie, it has been like that as far back as I can remember. And I started flying in 1953. What makes me laugh is the superiority complex Canadians have over Americans. This high and mighty we are morally superior attitude. Get over yourselves. Canadians -- so called "morally superior" -- losers.

Re: Airline Staff set to Tazer unruly passengers

WRT weapons on an airplane - bad idea unless they're in the possession of a highly trained in-flight security officer. By that I do not mean armed pilots which has to be the stupidest idea ever. It's bad enough the cabin crew has to occasionally use the restraint kit which pretty much guarantees pe...

I find this country to be extremely soft on fining anyone, in any industry. In mine, illegal insider trading is a joke, and treated as such. They jail people for violations in the US. Maybe for some of these incidents, if the president was held personally responsible for deliberate company safety vi...
