Re: Think carefully before you make your next move

I have zero tactics f'''''' up for yourself and see where it gets you. To quote you blueskiessabove, it is 'sad sad' that a member of our MEC is acting in such a juvenile manner on a public forum. It is unbecoming and a poor reflection on our pilot group. You should resign. With this behavior we ar...

Re: Think carefully before you make your next move

47north a question for you? So the AC flow is written into the TA? And it says 90% of applications will be hired? and 60% of GS to be Jazz pilots? Also you are saying that this contract will not run till 2035? It will be renegotiated before then? Is that also written in some where? I absolutely bel...

Re: Think carefully before you make your next move

To all my fellow aviators out there, think twice about voting yes. If you do you should be ashamed of yourself, this is the reason why the industry is so shitty in Canada and isn't getting better. Stop letting the fear mongering tactics get to you. Jazz isn't going anywhere and will be around for a...

Re: Think carefully before you make your next move

Air Canada will need 400 - 600 Airline rated pilots this year Who says they have to be ATPL pilots? That is their internal requirements. In the long term yes they will need a reliable supply of pilots. In the short to medium turn they would have no problem filling seats with CPL pilots if they had ...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.

Piece of CRAP TA. I disagree. - Pay issues look to be addressed with Dash 8 cap lifted, a blended pay scale and better credit for captain pay - Improvement to deadhead credit - 60% of AC pilots to come from Jazz- not insignificant with the hiring that is coming there with something like 1200 pilots...

At the CAE facility in YYZ this week there is a ground school going on for Scoop. Room looked full walking by. Was also a banner up from CAE welcoming them as a new client. Guess they are contracting out all the training for pilots too.

Did a YYZ-YYC the other day in the back of a 737MAX. Those seats feel like you're sitting on plywood after a couple of hours.

Re: Swoop pilot hiring.

The times where I pushed through long days of demanding conditions with MELs, bad weather, slippery runways, extended duty days...all a wash. All the frantic grooming between tight turn arounds in order to get back to sched all for not. It always amazes me that the bean counters can't grasp the fac...

Hans you should really reconsider that application to Sky. No offence intended to that pilot group, but I have spoken to a couple Jazz pilots that went over and they both said it was a big mistake.

Re: Sunwing Q400's?

Who owns those all white ones sitting by the skyservice hangar in CYYZ? Those white United Express Q400 belonged to Republic Airlines. They phases the Q400 program down. They are going to Flybe in Europe and some will be leased to other companies. http://www.canadianbusiness.com/business-news/repub...

That's just for this bid. Look at the effective dates. Most are 2017 and early 2018.

More vacancies to come on the January bid.

Re: Westjet to start ultra low cost carrier

We are all slamming WestJet for their ultra low cost carrier and how it may affect the pilots and the employees but we must not forget that all this is driven by the consumers. It's not what I want, as one consumer.. I'm flying to Asia twice this year, and for the first time I've ditched AC and am ...

Re: Jazz Reqiurements?

Planning on hiring 250+ pilots between now and the end of 2017. These numbers are pretty impressive. Should we expect the same numbers for next year? It apparently is not going to stop for a while. With the new duty time regulations and ongoing attrition to AC and elsewhere, there is supposed to be...

Re: United, again.

This was not a safety issue or even an overbooking incident. Someone decided that four UAL employees who arrived at the last minute should have priority over passengers who had paid for their seats probably weeks/months in advance, boarded the aircraft and sat in those seats. Anyone here that think...

Heard from a realiable source that the minimums will be dropping to 1000 TT and 250 multi in the next couple months. Planning on hiring 250+ pilots between now and the end of 2017.

Re: Sky regional

I am not trying to piss on your foot, but just want perspective pilots of express to realize that the plane may look like AC, but the terms of employment, renumeration, benefits, etc. are not AC. It does not mean that it is a shoddy place to work, nor should it be avoided, but a realistic outlook i...

I also would love some info on the interview process. I have one schedualled this week. Just finished the online assessments. Re: Sky Regional Hiring

If a Jazz pilot is not letting a Sky Regional or Georgian pilot into the jumpseat it is because they are not allowed to. Both these airlines do not have jumpseat agreements with Jazz nor are they authorized to ride in the jumpseat like an AC pilots as per the COM. But don't let rumors get in the way...

I thought the aircraft were owned by AC and just staffed by Sky. So is Sky now ordering their own aircraft? If you read the AC MD&A from the latest quarterly results they say: In support of Air Canada’s international expansion strategy, Air Canada entered into lease agreements for five Embraer 175 ...
