Re: PORTER Interview ?

Hiring hiring hiring... great to see during times like these. Pretty soon we're going to have to widen the Gardiner Expressway to make room for all the commuters though. :D

Where is everyone parking these days?

Re: hiring at Jazz!!!

LOL JazzJetDriver, you made me chuckle. No offence taken and perhaps my friend, perhaps you are right. BUT, sometimes you I have to call it what it is. It's not looking good. I absolutely love the job here. But I can't help but feel worried for some involved. I'm just calling the glass half somethin...

Re: hiring at Jazz!!!

I think I'd be pretty worried about the possibility of cuts. The bright side is you'll always have the chance to come back when it picks up. What do you do in the meantime, hurts me to think.. I think Jazz has no clue with regard to what AC wants to do in the near future and the uncertainty is just ...

Fleet Renewal

Anyone think there might actually be a fleet renewal sometime this century?

DH8s are in looking rough, don't know about the RJs.

Re: Alot of plane crashes?

I agree. There have been an unusual spike in the number of accidents and it seems pilot error has been a major factor in almost all of them. The pilot market is over and it's beginning to be another owners market (3000hr Navajo drivers etc.) Required experience is again on the rise and this will hav...

Re: Sinking air traffic leaves more planes mothballed in desert

This same article pops up during every 'bottoming' out of every aviation cycle. No surprise. Can't fill them, lease them or sell them...park them. Ironically new ones are still being made at Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Embraer etc. at the same time. What else is new.

Re: AC pledging to improve customer service, then pull our leg

Black Cat..... In an articulate way I think you're hitting the nail right on the head in your post. The salaries at WJ http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=50894 end up indirectly leading to a much better experience for the customer. I think the pilot morale is a little higher due to ...

Re: hiring at Jazz!!!

Rumour is that new hiring may be for increasing pilot base to cover a supposed new contract and type of aircraft.

Rumours are just that.. but I love'em.

Re: This is why people hate on Airlines for price gouging.

Ever wonder how Google makes money????? Billions and billions of dollars? I wonder, and I dont exactly know the answer. But.. Let me tell you about my experience on Ryanair for (50 pounds, 2hr flight). -No assigned seating, therefore lineup of 130 people, 30 min before departure (most hoping to get ...

LOL.. I did a checkride 6AM today trying to stay awake. Gotta love the similarities. Pushing every switch in frustration and throwing the sim off the jacks would definately give the ol' career a boost.

FA's - "well ___________", "and__________"

Seems like all the F/A's copy each other and start every PA announcement with a "Well, _____" or "And, ____". Whats with that. Might just be me, sounds silly.

All around though, they do a great job. Always friendly, courteous and hard working.

Re: base trade

This system overall has some holes in it. One of us can have a standing bid in for another base for up to 6 months while the company continually creates and fills positions through groundschools (on average 2 a month). I've bid another base for two and a half months only to find out just a few weeks...

Re: Jazz Jazz Jazz !!

Thats odd, I'm on 7th yr F/O pay and my T-4 says $57k. (and I didn't do a single day of O/T) That's scary for someone to be earning after 3 yrs of flight trainig & costs of $50+ K, ramp/instructor sacrifices, and probably 10 YEARS (3 yrs 703/704 + 7 yrs Jazz F/O) of commercial flying after completi...

Re: 800hrs

Director of Flight Ops in CYUL told me they were interviewing 1800hrs min now. they have filled most of their positions. that may be only a valid figure for YUL base, i don't know for the others. best way is to call YHZ jazz headquarters and ask. I dont think so. I know someone with 1400TT in an ea...

The doctor who did my medical in Toronto is also an A320 first officer at Air Canada. :prayer: Somehow he successfully accomplished both. Maybe so can you!

Re: A heads up before this gets released to the general public

i've searched extensively and i don't think there is one of those "smilies" available to adequately express my anger... I second that statement. When I started reading the 1'st post, I thought we were being warned of this poison coming to Canada. It is rampant in Europe. "Self sponsored employment"...

The last 2 groundschools did not have any YUL spots. Quite a few in line trying to get back from other bases. That being said, next GS could have all YUL spots. Who knows. That may change anytime with all the movement and January standing bid awards.

-Find a flightschool with the lowest dual rental rate and solo rental rate. -Once you start, never put any money down. -Pay as you go. (Money on account tends to wash away the instructor guilt when they charge you for every mili-second of briefings) -Fly at your own pace. If you want to be done in t...
