New Journey Log procedures

Good Day All I am an owner of an aircraft that has an old Journey Log. It is falling to pieces. I have purchased a new TP14089 log to fill out. I have looked online and asked a few pilots what to do. I have received a few answers. Am I supposed to carry over a few entries from the old log for contin...

Re: How far do you lean while on the ground before takeoff

I usually lean over and close the door, then Giv’er! But seriously i got a bit of advice from another Continental O-300 owner was to lean on the ground extensively and if holding short run er up to 1700 like I’m doing a mag check. As long as there is nobody behind me that is what i usually do. Keeps...

Re: New Partnership advice

Well I personally would not entertain a partnership on anything based on a apartment rental business i had with a family member. Partnership agreeements are best left to be written by lawyers and should contain every contingency imaginable. It is all fine when things are running smoothly but needs t...

Re: Why is flying so expensive?

Yes and I am sure you could rent a plane for $30 an hour. Using an inflation calculator available online from1965 dollars to today’s works out to be $237, $16,000 worrks out to $126,500 so it is all relative. And you say that 10 grad a year is out of the average family income? Ever price a week vaca...

As evidenced on what see here from replies to posts it’s a wonder anyone would ever want to work as a pilot. What a bunch of mean spirited nasty posters.

Re: US pilot - first time to Nova Scotia

Nice Choice of vacation. I believe that your questions were answered pretty well in the above posts. One thing I may add is that CYPD is probably your best option for basing out of. It is a great airport with a new classy FBO friendly staff and great service. They will provide rental cars drives etc...

Re: Why is flying so expensive?

Ditto. My wife and I continue to drive older cars (2004 & 2010), while we enjoy the privilege of flying around Canada. Bought and trained in my own plane (partnership) & saved a bundle on rental during my PPL training. It's not really that expensive in the grand scheme of things these days. I'd muc...

Re: Minisiter of Transport M Garneau braggs about Swoop

One thing I guarantee you is that you’ll never see any of those liberal dicks or any other politician for that matter, on a low cost airline. They suck up the good seats on the big boys at our kids and grand kids expense. What a country!

Re: Medical expires...flight test needed even if "current"?

Lownslow The temporary is an option. But for the couple of weeks they promised me for the sticker to arrive i can work the wait. No need to fly at night it is purely for pleasure. I do have to laugh at the 4 week wait for a sticker in the mail though. It is already processed on my license and on the...

Re: Medical expires...flight test needed even if "current"?

If anyone cares;

It was a paperwork error on my cfi’s part. Apparently the form never got sent to transport. And no copy of it at my ftu. So we resubmitted it and now i wait for the sticker. My 90 day temporary has expired so until i get my sticker I can not fly

Re: Why is flying so expensive?

Yes. It was my goal to fly so fly i am doing. I am sick of the guy in the $70,000 pickup truck grocery hauler with the $30,000 side by side sitting in it telling me i am some sort of 1% er. But i live in a modest house drive a 8 year old car and spend my cash wisely. I have bought 4 sets of headsets...

Re: Why is flying so expensive?

Expensive? Really? It has not been my experience at all, I am a new pilot in 2017. New plane owner in 2016 to train in. Bought a solid older 172 took my PPL license training, and had an annual for well under $29,000 all in for 2017. I know losers who spent more on harleys and never put 250 hours on ...

Re: Medical expires...flight test needed even if "current"?

Thanks. I thought of looking on the GARLO site and i also discovered that my night rating is nowhere to be found. I have a payment receipt and my instructor’s entry in my boklet but no entry on the site for it. The written in endorsement expired after 90 days. I am glad I looked. I was planning anot...

Re: Medical expires...flight test needed even if "current"?

A Bit of a bump to this topic

As far as i can see My 2 year medical expires on April of this year but the issuance date is marked as June.

What is the expiry date.? The medical anniversary or the issue date anniversary? It took three months to get it issued. i know.

Re: New Pilot owns plane looking for suggestions.

It almost sucked to see someone suggest circuits. I pushed my grumman (150 equivalent) as far as I could. I've been to Bahamas 3 times, Turks n Caicos and Mexico. I've flown over more than half of US states and was limited by only vacation days. You don't need experience before flying further away ...

Re: New Pilot owns plane looking for suggestions.

Bump to this again. I have been looking for some local airstrips where people somwtimes go to and camp. I was hoping to get away in the plane for a few days with my sons. I was thinking of the Quebec or eastern Ontario range. Anyone know of any hidden gems? I have checked COPA’s places to fly but it...

And I wish I were as dumb and uneducated as Donald Trump. Sounds like it's more a problem with the people being stupid than the exercise. Well in your expert opinion you must be so able to assess exercise routines from 2000 km away. I’ll let all the kinesiology students know that you are gonna put them out of work. God i just love asshat posters who know e...

Re: Hangar Tax Assessments CYYJ

Nobody cries for the rich.

But seriously the powers that be look at anyone with disposable income as a cash cow to milk dry. And they probably figure that if you own a hangar you’re loaded.

It is an all out class war on the middle classes.
