Hey folks. I am seeking a cessna spinner dome part # 0550236-8 for a 1965 C172G. If anyone has a good specimen I would be interested in purchasing it.

Re: A Trip North

PilotDar I was hoping that you'd chime in. Your advice is always well thought out. I would like to do a bit of exploring so I dream up schemes like this often. Maybe Labrador City and Churchill Falls might be the extent this year with a loop back through Sept Iles But I hope to get further north som...

A Trip North

Good day everyone. I am in the planning stages of a September trip from NS towards Iqualit if I can make it in my 172 with a friend for a few days. I plan on crossing the St Lawrence at the Matane area and heading north as far as we can go before running out of land or fuel stops. Preferably camping...

Illya. I am having a blast. Did 2.5 hours taking a friend up for his first flight in a GA aircraft. Flew over Halifax, and around Cape Split dodging clouds. I am enjoying every minute. We planned for the Cape Breton highlands but couldn't because of clouds. Oh well another day. Happy you're enjoyin...

Re: Aviation Document Booklet - Expiration

I did a little research and this is what I found(worth exactly what you paid me for it :smt040 ): The published level of service standard for the issuance of an ATPL or CPL is 20 to 40 working days as per TP 14984. The fee for the issuance of a temp is in CAR 104.01 Schedule IV item 17 and is the :...

Hey folks. I am basically in limbo too. Mailed my completed ppl paperwork to TC in december. Still waiting and looking on their website. They supposedly have a Service Standard but it does not appear on their website as far as i can find anyways. Just a message that they have one. I have emailed sev...

Re: need advice please

Yea, my oldest son has been digging ditches with his excavators for the past thirty years. He recently built a house worth over two million dollars. The average individual starting pretty much any career 30 years ago, will be in a significantly better position when they retire than someone starting...

Re: Stressed About the TC Exams and Flight Test

Having just finished my PPL Last month I feel I can speak from a bit of recent experience. Do not do the written too early. I did mine back in early May. My reasoning was I was fresh from learning everything from recently completed ground school. I was probably correct but not being ready for my fl...

Air Cadets... Seven Weeks for the whole thing. Likewise. We had nice weather my summer so was able to finish in 6 weeks. How i wish i did it this way. Maybe my life would be far different now. I am pushing my kids to go this route. My oldest is already a corporal at 13. He is keen to train. I hope ...

Re: How many hours a week did you fly during your PPL training?

I started my ppl last week of April. Finished first week of December last year. This was scheduled around my shifts, family obligations and other extra curricular life events. Some months i flew 3 times a week some were only once a week. I did better when i flew more often. I bought an old C172 befo...

Armchair. Go for the ppl. It is the better choice if you want to keep training. I debated getting my rec but decided if I want to take friends or family flying I can't with a rec.

Hey Folks I am trying to get up in the air as much as I can this winter but I am finding the cold weather is not helping my oil temps much. I can't seem to get the needle to move at all and as a result I fear for my engine and the moisture it must be making. And also no cabin heat either. Would Anyo...

Paint job? Yours looks pretty good. Besides, paint adds extra weight! I guess the vacuum horns threw me. Any older 172's I looked at had mechanical flaps with the air driven vacuum on them.

I would have posted a pic of mine to show you but my pictures on my iPad are too big to post here.
