Too bad we gave away the C Series for free to Airbus.

Re: labour lawyer recommendation

I know of someone who got taken to court for a training bond they never actually signed (company never asked). Some people won't have the means to pay a lawyer so they just settle. It's dirty and if it happened to me I'd fight right through to a court verdict.

Re: New hire bids

Hello, I have a couple questions about the new hire bids. What equipment is generally most popular, and chosen by the guys with the 1st pick? CRJ, Q400, or Dash? If you're the last person to chose and all that is left is the CRJ, but you don't want to fly on the CRJ is there any way of getting out ...

I think it's mostly due to the lack of oxygen from flying that wingsuit around.

Re: GGN CRJ Captain

Most airlines monitor social media for any use of their name. If you mention an airlines name you should expect them to know about it. I totally agree with that and I think they have the right to do so in this case. As I mentioned in the previous post, as long as there is probable cause they are we...

Re: Pilot unity

I find it funny that anyone would think an anonymous internet forum with no membership constraints is somehow similar to a business meeting. That being said, the original pic was not talking about sex, nor was it porn, it was simply a humorous meme used to start a conversation. Would everyone's shi...

Re: Pilot unity

And the dismissal of your feelings by labeling them with small words just makes it worse What are the big words that feelings should be labeled with? And should the expression that someone's feelings got hurt be used as a limit to discussion? So sue me - I thought that I could go to an aviation for...

Re: What kind of watch do you wear?

Ever since I've started wearing a watch again my phone stays in my pocket where it belongs. I feel naked without one now and I like the quick ability to check the time without fumbling for a phone. I get it, you don't "need" a watch but I'll keep wearing one because I want to not because I have to. ...

Or say someone who has been flying overseas with command time, and wants to come back to Canada without sitting at the bottom of AC or WJ's lists for 15 years. I can see it.

Re: Duty regs " what if , then"

I don't expect much if anything to change at Jazz. Perhaps some changes to CD's and how much you can flip back and forth from night to day flying in a month but when it comes to daily duty, legs, rest periods etc I think it will be much of the same.

Re: Thoughts on ACPA Joining ALPA...

I dont know if this is true or not, but I heard that there were concerns from some widebody pilots regarding the support they have when flying overseas, especially with the routes continuing to grow. ACPA is a very small in house union so if they ever needed support overseas it could take some time,...

This is my current watch, a Citizen Eco Drive. It has held up nicely in various weather conditions and looks and feels a lot more high end than it's price. https://www.longislandwatch.com/Citizen_AW1360_12H_Pilot_Watch_p/aw1360-12h.htm https://cdn3.volusion.com/htlyr.vuqkj/v/vspfiles/photos/AW1360-1...

Hey Jazz guys. This is a Westjet section, if you wanna post Westjetty things that's fine, but if you wanna masturbate to Jazz, then do it in the Jazz section. I did post something Westjetty, I told Hans to apply to swoop. Sometimes things change direction for a bit, you don’t own AvCanada, do like ...

Re: Swoop pilot hiring.

I would say no. Same can be said about all the express carriers having shit entry wages while AC makes record profits. We are after all flying the same passengers, on aircraft that say Air Canada on them and uniforms with the maple leaf plastered all over them. It's only a matter of time until the t...

Re: new to float operation. need some information please

What would the float operators be looking for in time required "on floats" to get on board? A few years ago I landed offers for two float jobs in my first season. One on a cub, and one on a 180. With 30 hours float time and 230 hours under my belt. I'm only assuming the demand has increased since t...

Re: Wasaya Offering YOS in the North As Starting Pay?

I believe this comes from ALPA and their long term goal of recognizing pilot experience for pay in order to not allow the companies to take advantage of shutting down and starting up all the time. Of course ALPA is responsible for this. Please ignore any world wide pilot shortage and the obvious fa...

Know your contract, if you are doing 7 legs and 14 hours, you are exceeding contractual limits! The most you can do in a scheduled 14 hour duty, scheduled being the key word, is 5 landings, 6 if the pilot agrees to it. “The total number of operational landings in a Duty Period plus the total number...

You'd be surprised how many new hires (even year old new hires) have never or barely read the contract. It's sad. I often overhear conversations in the crew rooms and think to myself "do they not know that's against the CBA?" Happens regularly. I used to pipe up and say something but it usually fell...
