Looks like I will need to install a new 406 ELT in our Cessna 180. Thinking of getting the ACK E-04 the ameri-king unti that can't no longer be recertified..
Is this a decent unit for the price?
How long is the battery coming with it good for? 5 years?
Cheers

Aft tail bulkhead rudder bell crank bushing - Cessna 180
Hello folks
Getting ready for the next annual. Need to replace the parts mentioned on the subject line. I think the PN is NAS 382-2. Where can I get this? I tried Aircraft spruce but could not find it...
Would anyone know?
Thanks

float cleaning`
Hello again
We parked our float plane in a shallow bay with lots of emerging/floating aquatic vegetation. What is the best way to get rid of a summer worth of thin layerof greenish stuff sticking to the floats even after removal from the lake?
Cheers

Bubble window on a Cessna 180
Hello there I broke the left window latch on our Cessna 180 on Sunday when I pulled it out of the water for the winter. Bummer! Thinking perhaps that this might be a good time to replace that window with a bubble window. Cost seems not too too bad but was wondering about installation? How hard is it...

Hello folks
Would you know where I can order one of those push-pull master switch for a Cessna 180?
Could it be also replaced by a split switch which seems to be easier to find?
Thanks

Re: Prop governor
Sorry!
I inquired about getting a used replacement from Skywagon City Inc. in case I night need to get mine overhauled or replaced. The question that came back to me was ...What model of prop governor you need?...hence my question...
Not much of a mechanic as you can see...

I'll ask him then....I was under the impression that only an AME can safety wire the filter.
Matter solved!

Re: Oil filter change
Thanks folks All good points and comments. I asked because I know how to change the oil (quick drain) but I do need to find an AME and bring him to the lake where I parked the plane to replace and secure the oil filter and amazingly enough, it is not always that simple up here. I only fly the plane ...

Hello again
We change the oil every 25 hours or so in the summer on our C 180 on floats but do we also need to replace the oil filter each time? Can it go for 50 hours instead?

At cruise, do you guys close the cowl flap at all between 300 and 350? When do you start closing it under normal cruising condition? Is 350 what you try to keep the temp at with the o-470 continental?

I certainly agree with you Supercharger... Had to replace the AH twice in the last 3 years...the vacuum pump once...and expect the DG to go soon....would be great to get rid of that entire loop! Is the Dynon D10A approved for the 180/185? I see in the links provided above that it is only certified f...
