Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

Air Canada floated a billion dollar share offering today. The day after that closes, expect an announcement about refunds, then later the same day, government will approve the transaction. The ducks are lining up in a row.... AC won’t be wasting its own cash on refunds. That will be part and parcel...

Re: Air Canada Second Trip to C.C.A.A.?

AC went to market today to solicit $850MM from a share offering. If the 15% oversubscription is converted, the proceeds will be just under $1B. And AC acquired TRZ for virtually no cash outlay, assuming that most TRZ shareholders opt for AC shares in lieu of cash. December 2020 is looking like a pre...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

Air Canada just offered to the EU concessions on 27 routes including 13 out of Montreal (which were identified as problematic regarding the competition). They are doing all what it takes to close the deal. All that AC has to do is propose to drop the TATL route authorities associated with Rouge and...

Re: Cargo TA

Come TS get your facts straight. You know the payscales at AC are better using guaranteed minimums..At least recognize that... Referencing posters quoting overtime pay stubs - I don't think that I have ever seen an arbitrator count overtime in determining pay parity. There are some AC NB CA with T4...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

BTW, I could be wrong, but a previous PFO at AC could be grounds for AC to not integrate a TRZ employee hi. 100% wrong. Can you show me the legal reference why you are 100% direct? You are kidding, right? Have you NEVER been though a merger before? How about the entire history of pilot seniority in...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

Domestic approval was a given once AC did not walk away given the opportunity once all extensions had been exhausted.

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

This transaction will be approved both domestically and by the EU, with conditions. With the uptick in share price, AC is looking at what will likely turn out to be a virtual non-cash acquisition of TRZ. AC is an extremely motivated buyer looking forward to consummating the transaction as opposed t...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

What AC wants is irrelevant to approval. Like I said the federal liberal government needs a political angle to approve it against the competition report. There has not been a single one put forward to that end. So again why would the liberals approve it? And yes many joke on here about the integrat...

Re: Commuting, Acclimatization and new Flight Duty Regs

You now need at least 36 hours OFF every 7 days... No, the requirement is 1 single day free from duty (which includes 2 local night’s rest). Local night’s rest - means a rest period of at least 9 hours that takes peace between 2230 and 0930 local time at the location where flight crew member is acc...

Re: Cargo TA

The big question here is how you consider inactive pilots. If you ratio active between themselves then same thing with inactives. That would be a fait start as TS right now brings not that much work but 500 inactive pilots. It really depends on the timing of that snapshot. Right now the most junior...

Re: Q4 Results

Also a perfect way to deter any other company that wanted to outbid AC and pretty much corner the TRZ shareholders to vote yes. TRZ is going to have serious solvency issues sooner rather than later. There can always be surprises last minute in terms of bid or goverment rejection but looks like AC i...

Re: Equipment bid

TRZ just announced Q4 2020 financial results and does not forecast recovery to pre-pandemic levels prior to 2023. And yes - they are well aware of the arrival of the vaccine (even referred to it in the press release). Also indicate that 2021 operations and revenue will continue to be dramatically af...

Re: Equipment bid

Try not to get worked up about unfounded speculation. Prepare yourself to be disappointed. I hope that things turn out better, but there is ZERO guidance from the decisionmakers that a magical recovery is on the horizon. Listen carefully to what CR has said publicly. Smart players hope for the best...

Re: Equipment bid

I wonder when the AC decisions are most likely to be made- the 2021 picture isn’t going to come into focus until the summer, maybe? Surely they’ll need to make decisions before that. Then again the potential CHR sale is in the works too and I’m surprised that’s taken as long as it has and yet to be...

Re: Cargo TA

I predict it will be ratio integration based on the rank of AC LCC positions on the larger list. So count how many positions are above LCC CA at AC that's you're start point, not actual seniority, but numbers down as if they most senior person was in each slot starting from 777CA down. 1% TS CA doe...

Re: Equipment bid

Unfortunately, no recalls in 2021 would not surprise me. Especially considering the willingness of some active members to "Help out" and fly 100+ credit months. I'm sure the company can count on these fine folks to keep the CAE bill under control for at least another year... As currently ...
