Re: FRMS pairings
I have done many planned 13.5hrs (extended to 14+ hrs due IRROPS) 2 sectors/2 crew under old rules. I have done a few narrow body/3 crew scheduled to 15 hrs and extended. The biggest issue was not duty day length but check in time. Front side of the clock was fine. Back side of the clock was brutal....

Re: Service Suspension Notice
Yes theoretically they still are, however every single one of their CPA routes were suspended back in the spring when AC made all those Atlantic Canada cuts. I assume they will restart those routes with them as the pandemic abates. In the meantime they are doing some charter/medivac/cargo in nL “.....

Re: FRMS pairings
Is the pairing showing as augmented? That buys you extra duty day (1-3 hours) depending on equipment/crew crest facilities.

Re: Service Suspension Notice
Chorus is in the process of entertaining proposals for a buy-out, they may want to exit the CPA altogether and focus on other types of flying. AC has NO need for e175s - therefore no need for sky. Chorus has had 1 unsolicited offer with significant conditions attached. This offer is likely low (as ...

Re: Service Suspension Notice
Potato/potato. Yqy has been flipping between the two carriers for months. The bottom line is express will be gone by this time next year. Restructuring à la United and AA. However you are all right about pax loads into the Atlantic provinces. Ottawa routes should be cut to prevent the MPs from gett...

Re: Service Suspension Notice
Like I said, I don’t doubt the fact that these routes are not currently viable, but I’m sure several mainline routes aren’t currently viable either and I haven’t heard of a mainline route cut in a while... These particular route cancelation announcements were made to a purpose. They are to aggravat...

This leaves Porter with essentially a monopoly out East, if they survive their COVID shutdown.

Re: Commuting, Acclimatization and new Flight Duty Regs
As a pilot you are required, by the regs, to be fit for duty (the maximum duty dependent on the time you begin). Commuting, young children etc. - all irrelevant other than to the person themselves. The duty regs are meant o ensure you are safe and fit to fly and include OFF and rest time. In that o...

Re: Cargo TA
FWIW - an arbitration panel is going to decide the seniority integration solution. I’m picking up on the word panel. I was asking about this to someone else. Do you know if it is now standard in Canada to have an arbitration panel of three or more? I presume the parties will seek to agree to a seni...

Re: Cargo TA
I red the whole thread and the other one talking about merger and I think we all know what the ac guys think about it. I think we all get it. But it seems like the transat guys are more quiet about how they think it should be done. Just curious if anyone from the ts team would lile to share on what...

Re: Cargo TA
So if CAIL came into the merger having same positions way more senior than AC in terms of YOS..Doesn't it seem a little fair that it went 1 for every 8 in their favor at the bottom? Same can be said here where the majority of 330 positions go way more senior at AC vs TS.. Merger thread..... Still u...

Re: Equipment bid
Based on this it does not look like many recalls will occur in 2021 at Jazz? Maybe a few more pilots called back in fall of 2021 but I could see most recalls not happening until spring/fall 2022. man I hope this isnt the case.. If Jazz is flying 70%+ of 2019 block hours in summer 2022 then there wi...

Re: Equipment bid
If there is a bid, it will very likely include further downgrades. Currently running 2 to 1 Captain to FO ratio, but an earlier agreement prevented further downgrades for now. The old awarded upgrades were cancelled, a new bid would be just that, so unless there is a significant increase in flying ...

Rouge - becomes lcc to compete with swoop TrZ - becomes leisure Cargo - becomes Ac new division Ac mainline - legacy routes Anyone see this differently? I had a manager suggest that there was a scenario with up to 5 operating certificates. I thought it was preposterous. Now it seems almost imminent.

Re: Cargo TA
I expect the same. The pandemic was an aucpice to shutdown rouge and the nearly 1000 AC Pilot jobs it was and transfer all the flying to Transat. I don't doubt that was the concessions made to the EU regulator, all European and European Caribbean rouge flying forfeited to Transat. I hope ACPA is pa...

They can't not approve the deal or prevent the deal from happening, but they may say that you can not fly such and such a route, or such and such a frequency for a period of time, or other restrictions the pencil pushers may dream up, limits on codeshare or joint venture, slot divesture, etc. Yup. ...

Re: Cargo TA
AC renegotiated the purchase at $5/share, with a requirement any competing offer must be above $6. At the moment the stock is sitting at $5.94. The market almost 100% believes AC will not purchase TS and that another buyer (or government) will step in. So right now the purchase does not even look l...

This is going to arbitration anyway you slice it. I agree history is indeed the teacher and I would expect with past precedent set it will be a quick decision or ruling. Alpa and acpa are already preparing with alpa wanting date of hire pure and simple but my money is on a formula. The AC list is n...
