Re: Emirates

Oil isn't what it was 10 years ago and it never will. Just curious but; What are you basing that on? Haha, are you from Alberta by any chance? Did that hit a nerve? Well, since you won't answer me, I presume you have no answer. Should I sink to your level and say "Haha, are you from Ontario by any ...

Re: Emirates

Haha, are you from Alberta by any chance? Did that hit a nerve? The writing is on the wall and the Saudis know it. Wasn't there a coup attempt a couple of weeks ago in Riyadh that they're trying to cover up? You didn't answer my question. You seem to lack a fundamental understanding of the world ar...

Re: Time to Stand Firm

A more conventional contract could be achieved by moving ESPP, RSUs and Stock Options to base wage - 40% base pay increase but virtually no company performance incentives, much the same as the average airline. What makes you think everyone who works there wants this solution? Perhaps many people wh...

Re: Time to Stand Firm

I think one shouldn’t shoot for the moon on this agreement. Get something in place so that progress can be made in the coming years. 1) improvement in Years of Service 2) Trip rigs of some sort 3) Slight pay increase The above would likely suffice, if, additionally, some means could be found to use...

Re: Time to Stand Firm

Another interpretation of ALPA’s refusal to extend the conciliation date is that, similar to the Austrian-Hungarian empure’s demands to Serbia in July 1914 (most unpalatable was the participation of A.-H. officials in the required Serbian investigation of anti-monarchist organizations) this ensures...

If you actually knew what was going on behind closed doors you would know that website is not completely truthful when talking about the negotiation process. And now switching the comparators yet again from previous internal emails. Same comparators in the email I got. With that said, I find it amu...

Re: Jetlines launch delayed

Because those very same ownership limits exist in every other country in the free world. So.. if we drop all of our ownership limits we get bought out by foreign buyers with big wallets, but we are not able to buy out any of those industries in their countries. So... level playing field at the moment.

Re: CIRB Decision

and if I did I wouldn't' be able to take the opportunity anymore since that option is no longer available after the CIRB ruling. The CIRB ruling would, in no way whatsoever, prevent you from working at Swoop. What it does is prevent you from taking a 2 year LOA, hold your position at WJ, go to work...

Re: CIRB Decision

How bout looking at a 5 to -10 year time span. A level 1 captain at swoop and level 1 f/o at WestJet both starting tomorrow. I think those numbers may play out a bit different, not to mention by year 3 the Swoop captain is making $130 an hour. It might not attract a year 6 F/O but it sure as hell l...

I took a pay cut to move to the airlines from charter world. Just like everyone else. Should it be that way? No. But it is. Was it pleasant? No. Did it suck? Yes. Did I survive it? Yes. Did I ever look back? No. (I could sit around lamenting the past I cannot change, or I could have been bitter abou...

I have flown with people who have expressed an interest in going to Swoop internally. They all have a few things in common. They all came from Encore. The only thing they see are 4 bars in their eyes and nothing else matters. They are really bad at math. just left seats and money. I'm going to break...
