Re: P4C members terminated

Looks to me like they are getting their ducks in a row prior to the contract re-opener next year. Anyone willing to rock the boat/shake up the cozy relationship between ACPA and the company will not be tolerated.

Re: What to expect as a new Fo.

Hopefully flat pay will be abolished now that GS courses are going unfilled I'de be very surprised: applied the 1st day of the job posting, 8500h tt, PIC on 737 and 320, bilingual French/English, Bachelor's degree, and can't even get a call for an interview :? Is your application active in the syst...

Re: Sunwing Airlines Bringing Foreign Pilots This Winter

I'm glad I got out of this company when I had the chance. I'm definitely glad I chose to stick with my present company rather than take the forced recall. In more than a decade in this industry, I've never seen a management group treat its employees with the level of contempt that Sunwing does. Extr...

Will Direct entry Cpts about to come aboard, Jazz is about to become a shit show. If the company had a proper picus program its alot better to upgrade FO's who already know the company routes and how the company runs. Brace yourselves everyone. PICUS is a joke. You’re either the PIC with sole respo...

Respectfully, what does this have to do with Air Canada? Shouldn't this fall under "General Airline Industry Comments"?

Re: Flat pay and unions...

Let’s extrapolate that idea. AC should interview all pilots to be hired at both mainline and Jazz. AC decides who will attend which PIT course. Tenure for pay starts on Day 1 regardless of property. Seniority accrual would involve discussion between ACPA, ALPA, and AC. College kids assigned only to...

Re: Missing Suitcase Air Canada

Makes me wonder how they interview prospective employees. So question one, are you abusive? Yes, I treat everyone and everything like crap. Oh good, lets continue then, are you completely incompetent? Yes, utterly useless. Well you seem perfect, can you begin working immediately here at ( _________...

Isn't he still on Flair's payroll working as a consultant? Everything that comes out of his mouth at this point should be recognized as being clearly biased, not that he had much credibility to begin with.

There is no policy, which is why you don't see it on the app. Cargojet does not allow non-company employees to utilize the jumpseat on their aircraft.

I have flown a few beech turbine airframes with over 3000 hours. I was considering applying as left seat there but going off what you both are saying I think I will stay clear. I know someone there and he said it’s a toxic atmosphere with the pilots treated poorly. I wanted to ask you guys on here ...

Re: Sunwing/Westjet

The deployments to Europe and layovers in the Caribbean were more of an "icing on the cake" so to speak. I would hardly see the SW pilots losing them as being major "quality of life" issues. Who are SW pilots going to "jump ship" for that would offer them the same chance to essentially vacation for...

Re: AC Pilots leaving to the US?

Any US airline is able to offer an Australian an EB-3 visa to work in the US. I have no idea what special skills the Aussies have over Canadians that entitle them to this coveted Visa but that's the reality right now. The Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA) contains a clause that ...

I always used to say that Sunwing was the best-kept secret in Canadian aviation. Great crews, great layovers, relatively laid back schedules, along with the opportunity to deploy to Europe in the summer months and see some very interesting and beautiful parts of the world while making some great cas...

Need I remind everyone that there already is a passenger airline in the world that runs a missile defence system on every single one of their planes and have been running it since 2004. They're based in the middle east and seem to be the only ones allowed to use it. You can search for yourself. :ro...

Re: From Float flying to Airlines?

The float time itself is an asset, and as others have said, the experience that you gain doing this type of flying will be of great benefit to you throughout the rest of your career in aviation. With that being said, you must keep in mind that if your goal is the airlines eventually, you'll likely b...

I can't believe these guys are finally getting off the ground - certainly unexpected given the number of false starts they've had over the last few years. For what it's worth, I like their livery better than the other latest ULCC market entrant, Lynx Air. Kind of like someone took EasyJet and Air Tr...

The aviation market is becoming exceptionally saturated in this country. Soon we will have: 1. Air Canada / Rouge 2. WestJet / Swoop 3. Porter (order for 30 Embraer E195-E2s with purchase rights for 50 more) 4. Flair (12 737s, with a stated goal to grow to 50 within 5 years) 5. Sunwing (primarily s...
