Re: Missing Suitcase Air Canada

I could see my suitcase through the glass - no way to retrieve it.

In case of emergency, break glass? it'd probably be cheaper at this point for AC to replace a pane of glass, rather than pay for the suitcase to chase you around! :smt040

Best of luck!

Re: Pilot shortage …? Reality or fake news ..

At my humble 703/704 we just got pretty decent raises (~30% for me..) in an attempt to stem the flow out of the door, and attract more people to come in.. While that's not a shortage per se, it certainly points to one.

Bumpity bump bump...

And...is that payscale still valid? If I'm reading it right: 900h (minimum annual) x $61.61 = $55449/yr. perdiems? base allowance? negotiable start level? Anything to make that salary higher than the Navajo pay I made back in 2002?

I've heard rumours of this happening over the last five or so years. *If* it is true - it stinks.

Re: Pearson Airport Delays.

So how is this CATSA's fault again? To the best of my reading of the article, this is about *arriving* aircraft: "When Trevor Lau's Air Canada flight from Orlando landed at Toronto's Pearson International Airport on Monday, he didn't know he'd be waiting over two hours on the plane." Doesn't CBSA de...

How many resumes did Jazz get for the current posting? Until those dry up, the pilot group has no leverage for pay increases..

How long does it take..

..To become 'good'. Back when I was a kid, my dad always used to say that it took 5 years to get good at something; latterly, Gladwell posited 10,000 hours of practice to master one's craft... Does that apply to aviation? 10k hours is a lot of time... One could argue that hours is only one way of as...

Perhaps it's just me, and maybe I'm getting old, but I really fail to see what the attraction or the audience is for this type of stuff? Re: Carson Air

Simple, sign the bond note, and there's language in it that says just that.

On the brighter side, there has just been a substantial bump to pilot salaries across the board, other improvements to per diems/shift premiums, and promises of more to come on other aspects of WaWCON.
