Sweet - I was wondering this too - because I've written and passed my commercial exam, but it may be a bit before my flighttest, and I was concerned that I'd have to write it again. 2 years should be plenty of time though.

What does it matter what he's flying - or even if he's flying up there. It's a legitimate question - and all you're doing is being a condesending asshole which helps nothing.

If I was a flight instructor - and one of my students came to a flight drunk - It'd be a miracle that there wasn't an 'accident' with a propeller and that student. It's absolutly intolerable - regardless of the circumstances. Would you give a meth-addicted pilot a second chance after showing up all ...

Well ... long before most of you here were born, I remember reading about a race track test with sporty drivers. Many had faster lap times after their first drink. Couldn't this be explained by the alcohol imparing thier 'risk-taking' judgement, which would in turn make them feel safer taking a tur...

If you can't stop yourself from drinking before your flight, I don't care if it's a physical problem, or just piss poor self-restraint - you don't deserve your license. If you're not responsible enough to realize that there are times when drinking is innapropriate, you're far to irresponsible to pil...

Richard Dean Anderson is my hero :)

I liked him best as Jack O'Niel in Stargate SG1 though :)

I used the same book, it's great. The first time I went through it, I had about a 82% overall, and then the second time (like a month later), I had a 95ish or so. The night before we wrote our CPAE, I did the practice test in the back, passed it, and went to bed. I wrote the exam the next day, and s...

That was our plan - to rent a 172 or two (depending on the number of interested people), or perhaps an Arrow, and fly down there for the last weekend.

Electronic Logbook

Wow - I'm on a thread creation spree! This is my last one for a bit (I promise!) But I was curious, I thought I read somewhere in the CARs that a logbook can be kept electronically, provided it is secure from damage, loss, etc... and backed up. I was wondering if there are any TC approved logbook pr...

AirVenture 2006: Oshkosh!

So me and a bunch of my buds were planning on going to Oshkosh last summer, but most of them backed out due to financial reasons. I was hoping to try and do it again this year (now that we all have a more realistic outlook of the costs of the trip). I was wondering what the best way to get down to O...

Millionair Buttonville

I've heard some mixed comments about this FBO at Buttonville, and I want to know if it's a good choice or not? (CYKZ or CYTZ is an option for me).

Get the aerocourse one. I wrote the INRAT in december, and used the Aerocourse book. It's a great tool to make sure that you're prepared. I Highly recommend that you read the AIM RAC section in it's entirety (or if you're feeling particularly lazy, just the IFR bits). Also read up on the GPS regs no...
