Pat Field at Brant Aero in Brantford is the only shop I trust in GTA.
Don't bother with these old radios, get something newer.

Re: Found Aircraft going under?
Watch the auction online today, most parts and jigs went pretty cheap to onsite buyers. Taildragger Bigfoot Sn 4000 went for around $100k and the nose dragger Expedition didnt get sold?? Why? Its an auction, start it lower. The best deal was the Lyc TIO-540 for $6000, Would have been a great homebui...

Was the tax increase for Avgas only or it included jet A1 also?

Same here, I wonder who buys from Nav Canada when you can get all Can subscription for $150 per year from FF. ForeFlight Mobile for Canada ($149.99/yr per pilot) Includes all software and data updates, NAV CANADA VNC and VTA charts, High and Low IFR Enroute charts, CAP terminal procedures, weather, ...

Re: Harvard II by beechcraft
Are you saying they have FADEC on that PT6? Never heard of a PT6 with electronic controller. Those Hrv2 /T6 are cool but not worth more than a TBM at $3.5m. There is no anti-ice on Harvard II unless you count prop boots. Also, this is not your run of the mill PT6, 1100 HP is not quite accurate, it i...

Seawind... Its a nich market.
Good luck to them but I dont see how they could sell 200 or even 60 per year. Pretty useless design in the bush.

Re: STC for Mogas
Who would want a carburated C185? Not me. I will stick to 100LL. An STC is not required for use of Canadian MOGAS in Canadian C-150s. Thank a fellow named Don Gordan, who did a tremendous amount of trial flying with four C 150's somewhere near Edmonton a few decades ago. Don did the work, we have th...

Re: Private Operating Certificate. When is one needed?
I agree CS. Nothing to do with safety.
I have read the proposed new regulations.
If they apply to TBM's I will be filling in forms most of the day and will have no time to fly. They are worse than the requirements under the POC regimen.

Re: Private Operating Certificate. When is one needed?
The type certificate will have final autority. A TBM or Meridian is certified for 5 passengers and 1 crew. As per POH. Has anyone asked how a determination of what "certified for six passengers" means? Pretty well all the aircraft in this class are certified for number of occupants, which includes c...

Re: Private Operating Certificate. When is one needed?
Here is the email I sent to CBAA. As a Canadian TBM owner operating without a POC under the interim rules, CBAA's position on 604.03(c) (pasted below) makes absolutely no sense. The TBM is typically an owner flown personal aircraft and the PC12 is typically professionally flown by charter operators ...
