Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

The competition bureau report is actually due out in a week. March 23rd. AC and AT have not been allowed to communicate with each other about this deal until that report is released. Even the AT CEO has said he expects this report to be negative. All of this was reported by the Financial Post but we...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

How will Transat stock go to zero? You mean that if air Canada doesn’t buy Transat, Transat is instantly going bankrupt and liquidation? If that’s the case then Transat is not worth anything, so why would AC buy them. Time to sell those Transat shares! Apparently they are worth nothing!/s Not insta...

Expected to go through according to the CEO of Transat. Who knows if doesn't, in the current market, his company's stock will literally go to zero.

Re: 3 dead, 2 uninjured in NWT

Oh I agree 100% it's an airplane issue. Float planes flip. I know multiple career float pilots that have flipped them. There is no way anyone should be putting innocent people in a float plane without a reasonable chance of egress available to them via a simple to operate emergency exit. These are t...

I have worked for operators where insurance has said it's up to you to decide who flies your airplanes. We trust you enough to not put incompetent people in there. So it's not always the insurance company making that call.

Shocking door design. The rear passengers didn't have a chance.

I would think that too if the people running this emergency alert system weren't so incompetent.

It's probably the Jazz deal that's making things difficult for them. They have to be sure they are meeting quotas. They can't just turn people away quickly anymore since they might need them if no one better comes along.

There are much better operators than Emirates. That kind of statement means he's is pretty out of touch. I'm surprised the boomer didn't say go to Flying Tigers or "Sunwings". Of course he has to maintain the antagonistic labor relation standpoint. Wouldn't want to show any weakness with an reopener...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Use to take 10 years to FO wide body. Crazy!!!! Making 50 grand in the right seat , I think AC pilots should not look any other airline crew in the eyes as we walk by in the terminal. We suck...... I'm a bit surprised foreign carriers aren't actively trying to poach these WB FO new hires after they...

Re: The challenges for us all in flying green

There's a lot they could do to cut emissions in aviation. Even just having ground crew ready to marshal you in instead of sitting there for 5 minutes every time you arrive in Pearson would save tons of carbon in the atmosphere. If ground power and air-conditioning was put on the aircraft as soon as ...
