Re: Dec 21/2015 Air Sprint list one of new CJ2+ for sale :(

Who says it's because of lack of business from oil fallout? Maybe a fleet replacement? As far as I can tell they are pretty damn busy. Perhaps facts are better than fiction before you start to get people worried about their jobs? You may very well be correct, but that kind of speculation is helpful...

Re: Where Do I complain?

Ad in the job section says, '500 hours in type. 3500 hours total time and above, age under 56 years old at start of assignment, current on the B747-200/400For A300'. I guess they don't know we don't discriminate in Canada...well at least not for all the world to see. You've been around 56+ years an...

Great pictures, great nostalgia.

If you can get a decent job in NW Ontario, I highly recommend it. Great people, great flying. I'm grateful for my experiences up there.

Sorry to hear that he lost his battle. He had a kind demeanour about him on these forums and came across as a very intelligent person. My best to his family and friends, sounds like a life well lived. Dug up one of his first posts, just to look back a bit. http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.ph...

Don't forget that everything you do will be filmed and will be used against you if some person is remotely offended or given PTSD from falling candy because it is against their belief system. Just look at this place

Re: Air Georgian Mentorship Program

Last thing I heard is that the cadet program was terminated for 2015. You'll be far better off if you head north, shake some hands, make some contacts, experience life and really get a good feel for this industry. I am grateful that I didn't get hired by a 704 to start, my career has been much more f...

Re: Female aircraft engineer needed for mentoring - know any

About how much would a job like that pay? If it's only an hour and a half or so, I'd be happy to do it for about a hundred bucks. Oh, sorry. I don't volunteer for things like that. I feel it's gender discrimination: whether we're selectively encouraging people or selectively discouraging people, it...

Re: Callsign

Too bad, the ghosts of the old CP pilots are turning in their graves, and the old salts who made the pathless ways an "Empress" route will tell you the same. Find something else to use. You're better than that. If I am rolling over in my grave over the use of a callsign, dig me up and hit me with t...

Re: Farting sheep caused emergency landing...

It wouldn't be the first time a large load of livestock set off a heat detector. Baaaa humbug. I feel sheepish mentioning this, but this kind of stuff really gets my goat. It's pretty baaad when an occurrence like this isn't ewenique any more. I wonder if it left the crew bleating about the overtim...

Shit old me, wishes he would have told young me: I like that you think a single employment choice is going to wrap up your career in a neat, tidy package where the lollipop ferries sprinkle moon dust on your rosy cheeks each morning. Go enjoy yourself, choose an adventure, go for lifestyle, experien...

Re: Winter Flight Suit

When I worked in the arctic I used to wear good long underwear, t-shirt, hoodie and cover it all with a flight suit (basically coveralls with more pockets). I then wore an old ski jacket over top, Sorel's, snowmobile mittens, and a beaver fur hat. That kept me warm when working and I often removed ...

Re: 703 pilots of AvCan. How many hours do you see each mon

geez I feel like I have too much spare time as it is with 3 day weekends and odd weekdays off. I can't imagine what it would be like if I only flew 25 hours a month. If I was in a big city I could see it being alright, but not in a town with very little to do. Maybe you should learn some hobbies ou...
