Re: Immersion training
That’s my problem, there are places to get trained out there that are not approved. I asked Transport for a list of transport Canada approved places. They could not supply this. I was supplied with recommended places to get this done. Recommend and approved are two different things.

Immersion training
With immersion training due by spring, is there any transport Canada approved courses? I called around and no one has approval from TC for an approved course. Not sure how training can be mandated! I’m waiting for a call back from my inspector on this. What’s your thoughts?

Great information posted above, in the interview if you don’t know a question don’t be afraid admit it. Tell them you would refer to the maintenance manual or to your inspector for additional information.

Re: Help with buying a used plane
Totally agree, we spent over 5,000 grand on a beaver pre buy including flying out contact ame out to do it. It was a 3 day event in the shop pouring over the logs, verifying the work was actually done to our liking. It was money well spent.

Pilot DAR......that is why you get a good pre buy done as you well know. Make sure the spar is in good shape as well as the rest of the airplane.

Figure out your mission, that’ll help you narrow down the choices for a six seater. Best bang for your money is a Cherokee six.

Yup, did the exact same thing. Warming up on a near empty tank, got busy with my two young grandkids. Departed a very small lake, just got airborne and she went very quite. Came to a stop just a few feet from shore. Felt like a complete idiot.

I operate with just myself, I’m the PRM, ops manager and chief pilot. As I’m semi retired I can pick and choose what work I want. I only take on two contracts and fly about 150 hrs per year.
