Re: Ornge moving YTZ ops to YHM
The words excellence and Ornge don't belong in the same sentance> Biggest waste of money to the Ontario tax payer since we used to pay Bob Rae. A lot of people have this opinion. Ornge claims that they are streamlining medevac flying and make it more efficient. Yes, Ornge seems to have a lot of man...

You must be a really old guy (joke there) because I remember that too .A few years ago that happened.

Well no one can afford to go work for them.I don't know anyone that will fly a jet for less then 60k.But thats what this company wants.More ads to follow...

Re: Are Hours overrated?
Hours are valued so much because they are numbers that can easily be weighed by the bean counters in the insurance industry and airline accountants, as well as the bureaucratic desk jockeys that manage TC. I hate the hours system, experience should be described in a paragraph on a persons resume in...

Re: airstrips in polar bear provincial park
Peawanuck is the closest "real airport". There is at least one old strip in the park if I remember correctly. I landed at the old base on the other side of the river from Peawanuck (Pine Tree line site I believe) in a Caravan. It was pretty soft, but doable at the the time. Well I don't think it wa...

Band of Brothers (Darrell Powers "SHIFTY"
We're hearing a lot today about big splashy memorial services. I want a nationwide memorial service for Darrell "Shifty" Powers. Shifty volunteered for the airborne in WWII and served with Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 101st Airborne Infantry. If you've seen Band...

Re: Lear 23/25 operators in Southern Ontario?
Looks like you might be out of luck. According to the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register ( http://www.tc.gc.ca/aviation/activepages/ccarcs/aspscripts/en/quicksearch.asp ), there are only 2 Learjet 20-series aircraft still registered in all of Canada (one in Victoria, BC and the other in Yellowknife)....

The corporate world can be just as volatile as the airline world with the exception that you don't have a union to warn you of upcoming lay offs. its like they say the first thing to go when the economy tanks is the private jet i felt that first hand this year got the call a month after buying my n...
