Pilfered this from another forum as I don't subscribe to the Vancouver Sun: From today's The Vancouver Sun Vancouver-based Harmony Airways is increasing the size of its aircraft fleet and expanding its service to Hawaii as part of overall growth plans that will also involve selling seats on flights ...

What did Aloha use to fly from from Vancouver to Hawaii????? Oh. Yeah........a 737-700! :butthead: As I said, they used the -700 but had load restrictions and sometimes required a tech stop through Oakland to make it work. Of course, sometimes I forget everyone at WJ knows more and does everything ...

Westjet currently has 90 min etops. and is in an accelerated etops program to soon have 120 mins folled shortly after by the 138 or more etops rating! This will come quicker than you think! And besides, What other destinations would Westjet go through all this for? I think that people at the compan...

Question? What's the difference in the flight time from say Montreal to Vancouver, or Halifax to Cancun, or even Toronto to Victoria VS a flight from Vancouver to Hawaii or Halifax to London? Operationally it's not about the time, but about the distance to a suitable airport SE. ie EROPS engines ru...

RB211 have you shot a lot of NDB approaches? I can think of almost half a dozen times where a couple of hundred feet would have made the difference. I'm not being condescending but a lot of pilots have flown mostly ILS and Loc. Yes. Since I have done many in mountainous areas I chose to do it by th...

Can't really see how a couple of hundred feet at beacon crossing will make any difference to the success of the approach. It is always prudent to plan on the side of safety. Being low on an approach has been tried for a variety of different reasons, the end result has rarely been very good.

WJ Pilot attrition?

Air Pacific runs Fiji/HNL/YVR or at least used too, Aloha HNL/YVR, HNL/LAX, HNL/SFO all using the -700. Air Icelandic used to do YHZ from Iceland. Yes the 800 could do it but the 700 has slightly better legs. As for YVR/HNL 2705 nm, YVR/OGG 2672nm its not much longer than YHZ/YYC 2334 or YHZ/ YVR 2...

At first they were going to go with the 777, but I think they decided on 2 or 3 767s. Then again they've been talking about the Asian expansion for quite some time and we've seen nothing yet. As far as I have heard they have not decided on 767's. The Asian expansion wasn't possible until the Canada...

Except the 767 won't make it to destinations in southern China like Macau without a tech stop or big load restriction. Same with the 330. So that leaves the likely contenders the 340 or 777 with the 787 a later possibilty.

Smelly I think if you look around the threads, the prostitutes are the ones that actually pay cash for a job. ( jetsgo ) The jury is still out on a bond. Jaques, this seems to be a common mistake made regarding this topic: the 'ones' that 'paid' for it are not the prostitutes. More accurately, I th...

Hey ACB, it may not be wise to take drugs as often as you apparently do. Of course, if it helps create your little fantasy world and you're happy there, then good luck to you.

Thanks Typhoon Pilot.

From my understanding of TP 6327E, for accelerated ETOPS approval an airline operates under 120 min authority for one year before approval greater than 138 min is granted. I gather then WJ will have 180 min approval sometime spring 2006?

Couple of questions for any WJer's that care to answer:

When did WJ receive 120 min approval?

Are centre fuel tanks installed or planned to be installed?

Will all -700's be maintained according to the ETOPS maintenance program or just a portion?

Thanks in advance.
