What other options are there. Low time guy's have no barganing power in the industry. If I don't do it someone else will. And don't even try to tell me they won't Like I said. It's up to high time guy's in the industry to do something because flying is becoming a hobby for me and every low time guy...

Are you saying the Boeing Flightcrew Training Manual is detailing incorrect procedures?

Again, 10 kts 'fast' is different than a planned increment for given conditons.

Whatever it takes, I guess, to justify your own decisions Pimper.

Believe what you like, but your examples are not all nearly equal.

Your landing distance increase is not that simple, .80. The speed added to Vref is, of course, airspeed while your landing distance is actually a function of g/s. In your scenario, adding the 5kt to Vref in still wind conditions will increase landing distance. Adding 5kt into a 10kt headwind could l...

The feds have two options; the first and most likely is to prop up AC with interm financing, loan guarantees, grants, etc. to keep in running and able to attract the necessary investment. This option protects control of the domestic transporation system, and also plays well in Ont and PQ in the up ...

Now that wasn't very complicated.
This idea that the root of all that ails AC stems from employee, specifically pilot, wages is nuts. Is it contributory? Perhaps.

AC's problems run much deeper than the wage issue.

Here's a link for their 2003 results. You are pretty much right on the loss estimate. Can't go on like that indefinitely.

I'd hate to say but if AC does go belly up those flying for them will be taking jobs at a substantial decrease in pay. That’s if there are jobs to be had for all which I doubt. And the downward pressure on wages for the res of us will be increased. Jetsgo will be able to continue asking for money t...

In the end, it goes to the integrity of the individual. If you have a company do you wqant someone who lies and cheats working for you?
