Re: Air Canada and Westjet...what a joke
It's in response to this letter from Transport Canada: https://s3.amazonaws.com/nca.flynca.com/memo/202d80824b372a6a06ecefc365f4af2d.pdf?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAIMR5VK5ZUA2APXCQ&Expires=1539578988&Signature=naPdwxkKBuUq4baJ6RIZ%2FgsV5zg%3D I would assume that all air operators have been sent the same le...

Re: YYZ SLOTS.....Again
I believe CDM has been in use by companies like fltplan.com for while to forsee issues with EDCT times etc and get flight plans into the cue early to try and help flight plan filers avoid delay. If I am filing with fltplan.com, whenever possible, I plan/file 24hrs in advance and let them file it ear...

Re: YYZ SLOTS.....Again
As far as I know, w haven’t heard about any new slot requirements. It was originally planned for October/November, but shortly after the last round, there was a notice saying that they accomplished everything they needed to and that’s further restrictions would not be required. Unless something new ...

USA-Mexico-Canada Trade agreement
Some people had expressed to me that they were pinning some hopes of the new NAFTA agreement would include Flight Crews in the professionals working visa exemption. The new agreement was published this morning and doesn’t not seem to have any material change in that regard. Congress has 60 days to r...

., “some experience” is pretty vague. It’s also entirely possible he has all those type ratings and this was his first time in the actual airplane of any of those types. You can get a pic or an sic type rating for free from the sim centre by acting as a right seater for a certain number of days per ...

Re: Falcon 50 crash in Greenville South Carolina...
I think the biggest head scratching part of this, is the credentials of the crew: SIC is a PPL with Multi Rating no instrument rating, no type rating PIC reportedly had an SIC rating only on the Da50 It appears as though the flight was a charter part 135 but the SIC is the owner of the airplane so p...

Doesn’t the ACPA scope clause limit regionals to 76pax or less?Jazz Aviation LP, was conducting flight JZA8585 from Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Intl, SK (CYXE) to Calgary Intl, AB (CYYC) with 4 crew members and 78 passengers on board.

I am not trashing you. You have been given good advice above and when that same advice was given before to the same question, the exact same response was given. There is work that needs to be done to move forward. Networking is not ass kissing. Learn the difference and it will be the key to unlockin...

But this: Sorry I don't kiss backsides to get ahead. It's morally wrong in my opinion. My beliefs such as that one should not prevent one from an Airline position. just shows a complete lack of understanding of people. Roadrunnersmother, Your words are remarkably similar to a "King Air pilot" a year...

Re: Questions for chief Pilot Interview
There is no exam requirement for 704, I can’t speak of 702-703 or 705. They have a couple of pages of questions they can ask and take notes on your answers. There are questions about your specific operation, training requirements, duty day requirements, Operational questions and legal questions. You...

Apply for the jobs you want, not just the ones you think you can get! I can attest from personal experience, hours in the logbook are just a small part of a large equation we look at when hiring.

Re: The problem with minimum wage ground crews
If you subcontract staff, those people become an extension of your company. If your company chooses to subcontract the work, they should take it on the chin and not try to pass the buck when IROPS happen. If it’s a wage issue, find a subcontractor that pays their employees better and pay appropriate...

Re: TC ATP to FAA
No I haven’t. I’m holding out for someone else to pay for it. I had a small window between when I received my TC ATPL and when this program started where I could have done the conversion the old way and I let the opportunity slip through my fingers, so here we are. I don’t even think there’s an FAA ...

Mostly useless knowledge, but occasionally I hit something in stride. This just happens to be a topic I researched extensively and was at CAE DFW when they were launching this program.

Re: TC ATP to FAA
One thing that I’m not sure of is whether or not it’s required to get the license verification through Oklahoma City before you do the ATP-CTP course. I don’t believe you need to, but better look into that.
