Re: Advice

The problem is where ever I am applying either no answer or answer with what I have been doing for last 2 years??????? I do have FAA (Flight Instructor R...

Re: PFO - Reapply
Bro! use it as motivation to do better next time. Pain can be a great motivator for doing well. Presently in aviation flight experience is only part of the equation to getting hired. The other ingredients are a good attitude, first impressions, ability to ask for help, CRM skills, and ability to sel...

Re: How to ensure you fail an AC interview
Keep reapplying. A ‘No’ means not now. Don’t let it wear you down. Do your best next time and in the meantime enjoy your life and work on other things meaningful to you. Your job is just one aspect of your life. Your fitness, finances, and relationships are equally important.

Very True. Also I’m sure your SWG pic time was music to their ears.dumbbell daddy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 4:21 am Don't try and predict anything. This past summer I was called 1 week after my interview, to start PIT 2 weeks later. OTS. The girls in HR are very warm, welcoming and professional btw.

Re: Jazz Approach
I’ve always said this would happen. It’s the next logical step for Canadian aviation. Most of the other countries you don’t have to “pay your dues” up North or work as a flight instructor. You simply finish your training and get on with an airline in a mentor ship role. Sit as a Second officer and ...

Re: Jazz Approach
So what? Go get a diploma. How much easier do you need it to be? It's 126K This would only be logical if you went straight from high school Imagine paying for living expenses on top of this, if you don't have rich parents you can't afford this First pay 40K for a degree Than go pay 126K plus let's ...

Re: Commuting at Jazz
Like the above poster said, almost any commute is possible. Make sure you add up the true total cost such as flights $500/month, crash pad $200-500/month, Uber/taxi/bus to crash pad $100/month. Mine comes to about $750/month. I did it partly because my base closed and I wanted to stay on my aircraft...

Re: Jazz Approach
Every generation has seen a benefit that the previous generation hasn’t seen. This is the best time to be alive in all of history. Let’s talk about aviation. I feel like most people I talk to aren’t interested in being a pilot. One of the reasons is the very high barrier for entry with accumulating ...

In all seriousness, not the end of the world. You only loose if you don’t get back up again.

Re: Regional Career
Spreading love to the above commenters. I log back into into avcan once a week and see some interesting comments. But after this reply I’m logging back off and going back to enjoying life. Aviation can have its ups and downs but I enjoyed it every step of the way from maintenance, to flight dispatch...

Re: Regional Career
I agree. Super douche move blasting him about his PFO. Especially when it would be so much easier - and deserving - to blast him about those YouTube videos... that's some painful shit. You at least need to be a hot European girl or something if you're doing to that kind of thing. The psych eval see...

Re: Regional Career
As for the regional career. My original post was asking who else on here decided to stay and for what reasons. I’m opening a dialogue that was missing on this forum. I'll bite and explain why I'm likely staying at a regional. For starters, I don't commute. I've done it and don't want to do it again...

Re: Regional Career
Interesting points posted above. The other outright negative posts I’m ignoring. Wanna know why? Because I never act like my life is perfect. It took a lot of ups and downs to get to this point. If I have flaws and losses then you have them too. Super dickish’ of you guys to bring up a PFO and my li...
