Re: Decide Aviation College
Do you have a Visa that is going to allow you to work? If you are only coming on a Student Visa, there are restrictions to working. The most important being that you may not work prior to or after your courses are complete. So even if you were to complete your instructor rating, you would no longer ...

With regards to TCA Flight 810, cncp there is a book out there called Disaster on Mount Slesse - The Story of Western Canada's Worst Air Crash by Betty O'Keefe and Ian MacDonald, released 2006. You can get it at Amazon , or possibly your local library. There was no final answers though if you look, ...

Ok so am I missing something here? It’s a job ad that says nothing about leading to a flying job. Sure it may be off the mark here, but HR for them tends to post all jobs here. Everyone just needs to relax. I see no dangled carrots or false promises. If your not interested in it, don’t apply.

TravelPro is what my company provides and it is crap. I would not but any of it I had to lay down my own cash. Your lucky if it lasts 2 years. All my peaces are not awesome. There is better. I only use it cause it’s free.

Re: Flight centre behavior
A flight school made an error in customer service. It's not the worst mistake ever made in the history of flight training. I also didn't suggest that the original poster runaway, like perhaps if they wanted upfront payment for a big chunk of hours vs pay as you go. That being said, I still often ge...

Re: Advice PPL student off to MRU
Provided he is the type of student that will continue to fly regulatory and get his CPL hammered out MRU is a waste. A BA in basket weaving is good enough. If was in your student’s shoes and had the cash in hand. I’d be flying every moment and just the CPL signed off. With COVID maybe slow down a ta...

If your about to spend a significant amount of money, shop around. Go to each school in your area and have a chat. Then make a short list and do a fam flight with one perhaps two.
What they did was skip the shopping part and sales pitch and gone onto collecting money.

Crash in Nelson BC
A Cessna 180 has ended up off airport in Nelson. Both occupants only have minor injuries. Appears to have gone through the fence at some point. Catastrophic gear issue?

I had to have one surgically removed about 8 years ago, because hey I like big things and they could not do lithotripsy to break it up. My CAME, since retired, was excellent. Until you are diagnosed with some, don't worry about it. Drink lots of water. If you are unlucky enough to have one. You will...

Re: Amputee PPL
I would start with talking to a CAME for a medical. Without one he can not hold a PPL. Obviously missing the leg will require some hoops to jump through however Transport Canada is usually reasonable about getting people in the air if they can. Once that has all be sorted and what would be required ...

If you can take a friend, who is at least useful in the cockpit with you, if not a pilot. They can help navigate the ground portion, tune your radios and allow you to keep your eyes out. Besides it is always more fun with a friend!

Did you read the article? They are taking all that knowledge for the 515 all new aircraft. So yes they will do that too while offering essentially a new airframe in the mean time.

Re: ALPA Jumpseat Question
We have a list of all of our Jumpseat agreements. Each carrier has there own policies and procedures around how to go about getting the jumpseat. So no you can not, you would have to continue to use your ID90 or Zed fare agreements until such time as your ALPA Jumpseat rep establishes the agreements.

Pasco only offers a few SAAB 340s to WestJet feeder service, it still has a strong and robust 704/705 airline of it's own brand on the west coast not associated with WestJet or AC for that matter. Still a good career place if you want rural west coast living on either the 1900 or the SAAB.

What is *really* pissing me off about the whole story is this ass hat wanted to "Make a Viral video", caused a major and expensive aviation disturbance. So what does the media do? If he is getting into it to see the world and travel, don't! He will be highly disappointed. I am curious as to why you'd think this. As for the OP's question. The advice to take him on a Fam. flight is solid. If he likes that then enrolling in a Private pilot license course to see if he has the ap...

First off, Sounds like you do not want him to become a commercial pilot! Secondly I am not a father, just an Uncle and an airline pilot. Many moons ago when I was younger I went to university a bit lost as well and it was a disaster! A waste of time, money and a student spot for someone who could ha...

Could this be that an FA turned around and said they would not fly with a sick passenger and the Captain's hands were tied and that's why no evaluation seemed to have been completed? I've certainly been told in enough CRM classes that when someone decides to deny boarding, the Captain cannot overri...
