Re: COVID is ALL BUT OVER.
"Did you even read or watch the entire commentary from Scott Davison (America One CEO)? The whole point of his presentation was that Covid deaths are UNDERstated in official numbers. He went on to say all America One employees will have to vaccinated when they return to in office work. Regarding Dr...

Re: COVID is ALL BUT OVER.
Wow. What a load of hogwash. The official line "you are not going to get as sick if you are vaxxed" . Hate to say it but you will probably not wind up sick but dead from the vax. Oh I can hear the screeching already from all the covid Karens. You know who Dr Robert Malone is?? Watch a podcast or tw...

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D4huXZVXoAAIOtM?format=jpg&name=900x900 Make your way over to the official source and medical authority (TC) before sharing this nonsense. None of our medicals are invalid. TC is in conflict. You are not allowed to fly while taking experimental drugs that in this case ar...

Re: Layoffs coming?
1. The recall LOU means nothing. Omicron will be “out of their control”. Ref: see yesterdays public announcement from the company. 2. They put a position bid out earlier this week for April positions. The bid was put out well after the omicron wave started. Why would they put a bid out if their book...

Re: Oh westjet
Is the new CEO just another MBA rehash of previous ones? He can’t be worse than the last rebound love affair following a bad 3 am break up… I hope anyone lurking these forums (Dave?) passes on to the higher ups that the majority of this group (ALL employees) want to hear a sincere explanation and a...

Re: Oh westjet
Seeing how we treat guests requiring assistance now (contract wheelchair service), I'd rather slap an ExpressPost sticker on my grandparents foreheads and ship them for a visit through Canada Post. Sounds harsh, but at least they'd make it and I'd have a tracking number. I don't fault any leadership...

Re: Oh westjet
Our former CEO really did a number on this place. Yes, I know someone is going to say "Onex runs the show", but from said persons own mouth - "Onex bought us because they like the way we run things and they're just going to let us do our thing". (paraphrased). It will take us years to recover from t...

Re: More WJ layoffs
As excited as I was to read the May 1 full employment agreement, I don't think it has much value as it carries a very large out. Fifth wave in Alberta? Out of our control. I don't think the art of giving and then taking is taught in business school, but I do imagine it is something taught in law sch...

Re: Aviation and the 2021 Election
As much as I dislike the way the governing party has treated our industry compared to other countries, I don’t think the other major party will be any better for us. From their policy book: “The Conservative Party believes the government must negotiate reciprocal “Open Skies” type agreements where i...

My prediction is WestJet pilots will repeat the FedEx lost decade, but only do it better, and make it 15 years. You’re assuming the company lasts 15 years. Hope is quickly fading on this side of the keyboard…. Let’s fire all the staff because travel demand will never come back! I’ve heard more and ...

Re: Competing Union
They say that companies get the union they deserve. The same can be said about the employee group. Until this group learns the world isn’t run on telegram, we are (insert word that rhymes with ducked). The funny thing is, these pilots are so blinded by their hatred of ALPA they don’t see the obvious...

Re: Competing Union
If anything it shows the level of discontent within the group. Has alpa been great? Nope. That’s for sure and the rotation of leadership in the lec is a joke at best. Not on one side or the other. The amount of grievances are expensive but they are only a result of the contract we or us or our nego...

Re: Competing Union
The names on that list aren’t surprising and are the reason I will not even consider such a change. They had their chance and look where we are now. The only thing more inflated than the “benefit of working with the company” theory is the ego of said individuals. It’s interesting to see “united” ref...

Re: More WJ layoffs
Whether there will me more layoffs or not is going to be an interesting thing to see unfold. I fall somewhere in the middle of the overly optimistic / overly pessimistic spectrum in terms of recovery. The fact so many Canadian's were willing to travel this winter when given the chance says a lot. Z...

Re: More WJ layoffs
I don't think WJ is paying for the the Miami training, could be wrong, but I think it's on Boeing's dime. Why is there such a rush to pump approx. 1000 pilots for 13 tails? I didn’t realize Boeing was covering this bill. It’s hard to know these things as a private company now. I’m guessing only sen...
