To be completely honestly with you JC, there will come a time when I do ask to go back up north, I actually miss it. But I can't belive they got you doing a medevac. Were the king Air's out on calls, or was it the call required a cargo door? either way, couldn't have been to bad.....not time critica...

you can call the irving oil switchboard and ask for the flight DEPT. really good company, and the planes are sweet. I have met a few of the pilots back east and they all have great things to say.

 .....the life of a medevac pilot. I can understand why you would want to leave a sweet job traveling abroad, with FA's serving you coffee, and latest in low coast airplane food, for the fun and exciting life of an on call medevac pilot. Aside from developing those all important PDM skills, you...

Sky....NVFR demands respect, reguardless of weather. Night flying is very scenic, and fun. It offers some different challenges, which are a nice break from the routine. But, black hole night flying is the same as IMC, Your on the dials the whole time. I strongly recommend that you do not venture int...

All very good points, especially about the night flying. Doing a MVFR night flight is a good way to kill yourself. Skynight, Sounds like your fairly new at this game. If I were you I would up in a familar area in say 5 miles, get comfortable. then do 4 miles, 3 and so on, do a circuit in a mile and ...

A friend of mine was offered a CPT seat there when he had 3300 TT, and not alot of multi turbine PIC. The pay was in the low 40's ....as was the 2 year bond. Schedule was sketchy, the company was newer and they wern't sure how busy things would be, number of pilots and such. I hear things are going ...

500 hours a year give a take. It's not alot of flying, but then again, you only work half the year.

I can only speak for the beech side - FO's make around high 20's to mid 30's, CPTS start at around mid 50's. Like JC said, you really only work half the year, unless you want to work more out of YYC. It's a pretty sweet job.

Cheers.

US flight requirments VS CDN flight requirments.....

I've been in the states for a month or so, and I can't belive the number of jobs and the hours (or lack there of) they require, even in this "slower time". Spoke with a copilot from a Delta connector, they require 1500 TT with 500 multi to fly their ERJ (although 2500 is more realistic). A charter p...

There are a number of things you can do to really help yourself get through the rateing fast and cheap. Get your hands on the the POH, the schools "SOP's", and a good multi engine "how to book" - the JEP multi engine book is pretty good (I forgot the name). "fly the chair" - meaning sit in a chair (...
