Re: Red Bull Pilot Flying Through 2 Tunnels

In sure they sorted out all the "paperwork" with the powers that be and then some. Very cool stunt! The conditions would have to be near perfect or a fart could throw you into the wall. That's just about the riskiest piece of flying I've ever seen, excellent piloting. Completely unnecessary and not ...

CNE airshow noise

https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/mobile/some-toronto-residents-slam-upcoming-air-show-on-social-media-over-noise-disruption-1.5573003 Holy moly, I dislike loud noises and incessant droning as much as anyone but 1 weekend a year for an airshow is perfectly acceptable. Social media needs to be banned for g...

Re: Immersion training

The advisory circular from March talks about setting up your training program and having it approved by TC.

We just track dates and use one of the current providers.

Your TC person should be able to sort it out.

Re: Air Transat 236 20 Year Anniversary

Ya, Transat got "lucky" that 9/11 swept this problem under the rug. It was a giant screwup by every single point along the way and it almost ended in a massive disaster. Management pushed maintenance and the aircraft was released in an unairworthy state. The pilots failed to recognize the fuel magic...

It was a 172 right? that junker is probably back in the air already, if not then buy a new one.

Re: "Big men" in aviation

It's not just pilots, this is common in a lot of workplaces. Sometimes it's justified, sometimes people like to whine and complain about their situations just for the sake of it. One of the reasons for my shitty attitude is that I'd like to live a long and productive life. There is no second chance ...

There isn't really much on the recording. The incident aircraft confirms 12 for takeoff and that's it. the rest is emergency response.

Converting licenses isn't difficult, just contact the local authorities.

HOWEVER, Australia has strict work and immigration policies that you'll need to look into.

Re: Get Ready Airline Workers to be Forcibly Vaccinated

I contacted my life insurance provider and they explained I can get vaccinated but I run the risk to have my policy canceled as they consider it an experimental drug at this point. They said it will be something to find out after my death and see if the payment is approved...hmm  this mak...

Re: Can you wrap a certified airplane?

I suggest not, it'd be inviting corrosion. I'm curious about this. How would this encourage corrosion? Is a wrap not just like a vinyl stickers such as the markings applied to warbirds? If there is any corrosion already present below the paint is one but if there are any coating blemishes below the...

Re: Helicopter crash CYFD

Hopefully the pilot makes a speedy recovery and gets back flying again soon. Wires are one of the biggest dangers to helicopters, the article states it happened near powerline Rd. So I would guess there to be a power line around. Those wires are easy to see, it's all the other ones strewn about that...

There was someone out west(can't remember where) with a couple at one point who might know the market better but just like any other helicopter, the paperwork and times remaining will be a big determining factor.

There is a grand total of 1 currently registered in Canada, yikes.

I don't see how the proposed changes would have captured the 14 accidents that happened in the last 10 years. Well, I know of one for sure with 2 fatalities off the top of my head that only happened a couple years ago. Several in Alberta over the last couple years too. Just have a look at night acc...

Re: Night VFR rule changes

The changes would effect private aircraft the most as they are the most likely to get caught out in the dark. Doesn't matter if it's a helicopter or an airplane, I think there is merit to the proposed changes as it may actually save someone from their own overconfidence or stupidity. There aren't a ...

Hey CBC reporter, you literally live off of handouts and government bailouts to survive. Your wage is paid by OUR MONEY. Your viewership is decreasing and so is your ad revenue. This year you need another 800 Million ON TOP of what you normally get. Now I dont want to get personal but as an organiz...
