Re: AC New hires please use your WB bid

For the Jazz guys in waiting, the December PIT was about half full of Jazz hires. The total class size was over 30.

Looks like the YYZ 77 and 87 spots went unfilled. Very interesting times around here.

Re: Jazz vs Encore

I'm will go out on a limb and guess that Jazz has the same ban policy guidance as AC. If that is the case, flying the ILS on 09 in YFC they would only be good down to 3/4 or 4000 RVR. This is company imposed guidance I believe as one of the preventative measures that came out of the YHZ accident.

Re: (30 votes cast): WPSL Poll

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now John. I believe that document you found does not have anything to do with the LOU between Wasaya and Jazz. I believe that one simply allows credit to be given to pilots who join Wasaya if they had previous industry experience. As for the Jazz LOU, it allows for a...

Re: Chorus/Ggn/Sky merge

They should merge, but if course then how could AC undercut one another using each other? If they do, AC will guaranteed start looking for other companies to do the flying for less, just to keep costs down at chorus. Maybe, but they have cost certainty until 2025 with chorus. I'd be surprised to se...

Well first, I would have hoped you've saved up a bit of a nest egg. Children can be very expensive. Secondly, I'd suggest a good budgeting tool. I personally use the Mint App. It's done by the same folks who put together Intuit and Turbo Tax. The drawback being you surrender your banking info to the...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

We were told on my PIT course that the plan was 30 every 3 weeks indefinitely, and that they wanted to be as close to the 80% express ratio as they could be. It was stated very clearly though that the ratio would not be maintained if the integrity of the express schedule was compromised. The early O...

Re: Boeing 727

I didn't fly it for AC but I've got about 1800 hours in them. I absolutely loved the airplane. It was built tough and hand flew very well. I don't remember having any real challenge with landing unless you were very light. When it was light there was a tendency for it to float and eat up runway, so ...

It appears that WestJet has also updated their substance policy. It mirrors the policy published by AC.

Re: cover letter and resume

Depending on where you are located, you may have access to an employment office. I was able to sit down with mine to comb over my resume, cover letter and even LinkedIn profile, all free of charge.

They aren't aviation resume specialist but they should be able to get you going.

Jazz Aviation LP, was conducting flight JZA8585 from Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Intl, SK (CYXE) to Calgary Intl, AB (CYYC) with 4 crew members and 78 passengers on board.
Doesn’t the ACPA scope clause limit regionals to 76pax or less?
Not on the props. I assume this flight was a Q.

Re: Does Canadian Airlines request PRIA records from US?

Thanks islandguy. Would you recommend staying at my current regional until I get some PIC time then applying to AC or should I make the transition now to a Canadian regional. I read info on AC and it seems like they're getting most of their pilots from their wholly owned regionals. Just a point of ...

Re: Jazz Pilot Pool

We probably won’t start hiring again until mainline starts their hiring again in the fall. It’s all a trickle down effect. We’re pretty overstaffed on the pilot side of things right now so expect to wait a few months at least. We continue to hire 12-16 a month, with courses planned each month into ...
