Re: Westwind

I've flown as a passenger many times and it wasn't unheard of for us to be spending the night at ZFD because of weather. Since Dec 13 I've noticed a lot more erring on the side of caution with the aircraft not even departing YXE.

June '18 Westjet fire, aircraft returns to YYC

This happened back in June. First I'd heard of it was this article. I looked through the forums here and can't find anything.

At the risk if putting words into his mouth, I think that what Guilden is getting at is the corporate safety culture of Westwind Aviation was the root cause.

Re: Westwind

What if there are dead bugs on the leading edge and the temperature is below freezing so that it is now considered frozen contamination?
One doesn't often see insects flying around in sub-zero temperatures.

Re: Aircraft sliding off the runway in YXE?

Interesting that it was so slippery with the temperature above freezing for around 8 hours prior to the incident. Not from Canada? The air may have been above freezing, but the ground was not. As soon as that rain fell onto the frozen pavement, it turned to ice. Happens all the time. That's why hig...

I don't get into big airports, but aren't service roads painted with white lines and taxiways painted in yellow?

What WEW needs is for the management of TWA that departed after the merger to return. I think the wrong management team left.

Re: How to get rid of that autopilot

Last summer my Cherokee trim switch decided to short out and transit to full pitch up while on climb out. Although I could control the aircraft, it isn't something I'd be able to do for very long. The red button made life much easier as I turned around to land. Edit for detail. While the switch was ...

From the article

'Somebody ran into the bottom of me,' pilot tells control tower

We all know who has right of way in the circuit. You're the pilot of a faster, higher aircraft. Who ran into whom?

Re: AC clips a wingtip.

You know, your title implies that AC was at fault when in reality they were stationary, maybe it should read, “AC wing clipped” I gotta agree, that's a bullshit title. Almost clickbait-esque. Sorry guys, I had originally just posted the link and came to the same conclusion as you, so thats why I ma...
