Re: So... Whats Your Price

Ok boys and girls, haven't seen a post with "Your salary requirements" many times on a Job add before, especially lately. What would your price for a Dash 8 Q300 be? Remember the following qualifications as per the add: Grand Total 4,000 hours In Command 2,500 hours In Command Turboprop/Jet 500 hou...

Re: TSB introduces Watchlist

First Dust Devil, I didn't say I "objected", I made mention of my "cynicism" ... a little different, don't you think? How much time and money do you think they spent on creating this list? Considering that the NTSB created its "Most Wanted" list way back in 1990, and that, for instance, runway incu...

Re: College of Pilots?

Without seeming to be an apologist for this college, they 'never' said there was to be an educational component of their org, except perhaps as a component of aviation, i.e. CRM or How to Start a Turbine Engine, that sort of stuff. For those of you who are fussed about finishing grade 12 or getting...

Re: College of Pilots?

Would I have been a better, safer pilot had I had more education? There never was any hope for you .... I think that this is a done deal between Transport and the "College" and that right now the parties are making a show of procedure but with the outcome certain. It may even be that the ...

Re: TSB introduces Watchlist

What are you objecting to? Perhaps that the TSB "Recommendations" are presented (at least on this webpage) in a rather vague and simple manner. The presentation and layout of the NTSB page (such as the action summaries and formal recommendations) provide a much more in-depth and valuable resource. ...

Re: Ottawa to tighten rules governing corporate jets

In December, Baird hinted that his department was reconsidering its approach. "I do not support outsourcing safety testing or safety monitoring to the private sector. I think it is an important core responsibility of government and my department," he told the House of Commons at the time. Wonder wh...

Re: College of Pilots?

I had a look at the site and then I had a look at the Partners thing they claim to have going with TC. There are some huge questions about that and the way this organization if formed now would be able to present this radical plan as a fait accompli to Canada's pilots, what a "majority" means at th...

Just as they should all be good pilots. Unfortunately that is impossible. I think we should look at our own industry before slinging crap at other industries.

But slinging crap makes some people feel better about themselves.

Why do pilots limit themselves?

I'm getting a steady stream of resumes with guys looking for a first officer position. I don't have first officers so unfortunately I guess I don't have a job for these type of guys. I'd recommend when you send out resumes just say you want a pilot position. Don't restrict yourself unless for some r...
