Re: I got dibs on the big cardboard box by the heating grate

China was mentioned in a previous post. I have been told that China is a large invester in the US and the US owes a large part of its national debt to the Chinese. What happens if China calls its loans? What happens if the US dollar fails and the Euro takes over? What happens when the US can no long...

Re: Anybody flying with high blood pressure?

I have a tendency to high blood pressure. About 150/90 is my max. Hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill that works for me. I can reduce my blood pressure naturally by walking every day. My blood pressure goes down to normal without pills if I keep my weight below about 190 lbs. A nurse told me to take...

Re: Flying Cars??

The flying car has been tried many times over the years. The Taylor car flew in the fifties, but was not commerciably viable at the time. Who knows, maybe the time has come.

Re: License number question...

Basicly a senior commercial pilot licence was a commercial licence allowing PIC on a 23,000 lb aircraft. You had to write the same exams as ATPL but required a lower pass mark of 60%(not sure of the %). If you passed the exams with a high enough mark for the ATPL you could apply for the SCPL and tha...

Re: USA announces Protectionist Policies?

Democrat policies have never been as good for the canadian economy as Republican policies, no matter what president. Mainly due to protectionism. The 1929 recession would have only lasted a couple of years if the government of the day had not passed legislation almost identical to this years proposa...

My original commercial was VRC9170 and it changed to the new file format when the CARS Changed. The old numbers represented how many pilots had been licensed in your region befor you.

Re: E6B question

I do not understand why some are calling Strega an Idiot. Like the rest of us, he probably doesnt use his E6B much. If he was, he would know the use of it after 20 years. Manual E6B and map navigation could be consudered an art form, that cannot fail. Imagine if the GPS system went off the line. Lik...

Hey Cat
I think Geraldo should be sent to Afganistan to report on the troubles there. Wasn't he in Iraq a couple of years ago?

Re: 230 People Killed in Occupied Palestine

The situation in Isreal is very complicated. Isreal is the original homeland of the Jewish people. All that happened in 1948 when Isreal as a nation was formed was that the Jewish people finally, after about 2000 years, took some of their land back. The hatred of the Jew goes back to a time when the...

Re: Globe&Mail: Lives Could Have Already Been Saved

Have the VFR rules changed for the BC coast? If I remember correctly minimum low level flight visibility on the BC coast is clear of cloud and two(2) miles visibility whereas it is 1 mile visibility in the rest of Canada.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Pacific Coastal lashes out - today's Globe and Mail

thanks 2R, There a lot of good companies. Although smaller, Seair comes to mind as a very good company. I don't like to claim any company as the best. Many are good, many are mediocre, a few are poor. Some are dangerous I suppose, but no company is anymore dangerous than the pilots or engineers are ...

Re: Pacific Coastal lashes out - today's Globe and Mail

My previous statement lost a line. Some were there when the Smith family took over PCA years ago with no injuries and one in a groundloop while training, again no injuries. There record is very good and company control is as good as any company out there. Should say: Some were there when the Smith f...

Re: Pacific Coastal lashes out - today's Globe and Mail

2R it seems you might not know a lot about PCA. Did or do you work there? The EX MB Gooses are still flying. PCA, untill August, was operating 6 gooses. Some were there when the Smith family took over PCA years ago with no injuries and one in a groundloop while training, again no injuries. There rec...
