Re: YVR Commuters

As per this last bid only 1 fo is based in yvr. So not junior whats so ever . We do have a jump seat agreement with air canada and westjet availeable as of day 1. Andy Does this mean that it takes quite some time to hold YVr vase as an FO? I would be commuting to YYZ but would rather not move there...

Netjets getting even better.

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/netjets-njasap-reach-industry-leading-agreement-300780038.html?tc=eml_cleartim Why is this not happening in Canada?!? Netjets is already one of the best coorporate departments in the States and to plan for the future, they set themselves apart even more now ...

Re: Yvr tower airspace

Usually there’s no VFR in terminal airspace above 2500 feet as per NOTAM. If Tower doesn’t allow VFR, then I assume they were too busy with IFR inbound and departing traffic, who knows. Maybe some controllers are still on vacation? Perhaps because it was a super nice sunny day in Vancouver, everyone...

Re: CMA vs PASCO

Well by looks of CMAs add, they don’t require an ATPL for B1900 captains. Pasco does require you to have an ATPL as per their COM. So if you wanted to multi turbine pic time without an ATPL and live on the coast, CMA is your best bet. Pasco allows you to live anywhere in their network and commute co...

Re: London Air Services 2018

My T4 last year was well into the six figures flying a King Air with the odd training flight here and there. That’s not including the other $17k perdiem and bonus. LAS needs to step it up big time. A lot of operators in Vancouver need to step it if they want to attract and retain pilots unless they ...

Re: Possibly returning to Canada

Depends what you mean as a “fair salary”? Please elaborate what you consider a fair salary on the West Coast? If it all boils down to what you stated is important, then my post and statement stands. The salary is beyond sub-par in Canada and getting lower every year as we speak. Please don’t underes...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

You will not receive an email to subsequent applications for same email used on the same job ID as per Air Canada’s tech email. This should clear up all the confusion.

Re: Why does anyone want to work at WestJet?

What is the current 2019 1st 2nd and 3rd year FO pay scale at WJ vs Swoop and how much does the typical swoop FO and WJ FO take home every two weeks? And talking specifically about their last job ad regarding Westjet/swoop, what is the likelihood that in the interview they will tell you it’s actuall...

Re: Image Recorders May be Coming to a Cockpit Near You

Okay, and who is gonna pay for these cameras? First of all, most commercial cockpits today already have a CVR, 705 jets also have a black box and most modern high tech jets have engine parameters being fed via satellite to maintenance every second. Pilots are some of the most highly monitored peopl...

Re: Possibly returning to Canada

Not sure if you are aware but for a DEC at, lets say swoop, flair or sky regional pay very low wages, around $70-90k and they will make you work like a dog. Think twice before making that move. And you will be at the bottom of the seniority ladder with all the 25 year olds who claim that they are we...

Re: Seeking accomodation for groundschool.

Are you saying that Encore does not pay for accommodations during your six week training session??? wtf-How much cheaper do they get? I'm utterly disgusted by the industry in Canada at this point...Paid accommodation should be a basic part of ones initial course.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I had the same-never got an email saying application was received. Apparently if you have applied previously, you won’t get an email. When you originally applied, you would have gotten one. Subsequent applications and updated resumes won’t get you the email, that’s how I understand it.
