Heard today the a/c was to be written off. Apparently initial estimates from Boeing are 14 or 15 million to repair and it has to be done where it sits. They won't allow it to be flown elsewhere (big surprise).

ETOPS approved a/c up to 2 hrs away for for a take-off alternate. 850nm for the B757.
