That would make sense. I guess I just assumed they all wanted to go to AC.

Re: Cargojet..

Where’s Cargojet been picking new hires up from? Their requirements are asking for 3000TT and 1000 transport category jet. Genuinely curious.

Good Luck! I know King Air Capts. with half that time making literally double that 47K! Maybe they didn't get the memo about the shortage of qualified pilots?

Re: The solution to pilot shortage?

Full automation is going to happen, no question about it. I think it's foolish for us pilots to deny it. We don't want to get caught like Sears or Blockbuster being fine with the status quo. That being said, I feel the trucking, train and shipping industry will come first and with what is learned th...

Re: 200 Hrs CPL getting hired at 703

If you want any sort of a chance at finding a flying job right away it will require sacrifices. Mostly, packing your car and leaving the city. Don't stop driving until you find a job... and be prepared that it may be a few years before you get back home. Starting as a Rampy most likely? Tons of pla...

Re: Manitoba government contemplates privatizing province-run air ambulances, water bombers

While I don't think they should privatize the water bombing side. 90%+ of the MEDEVACs are already flown by the private sector. Unfortunately the government wants to rid itself of all responsibilities so when something costs money or someone fucks up it's not their problem.

My advice would be to try and get on as a King Air FO or some kind of pressurized turbine bird. With the way things are moving, upgrade time could be within months.

Re: Donald Trump's 757.

No expert, but I'm guessing he's basically bound to having to use AF1 for the next four years. I suppose he can have the '57 for family but I would think they'd be allowed on AF1. If anything I'm curious what the '57 drivers are going to do now for the next 4 years. Him winning the vote was probably...

It being an A380 may have had something to do with it, but I agree, I would think YWG would have been more than capable.

Re: Proper way to log 12 legs a day in a personal logbook?

I too do a daily log entry. In the comments section I write out the legs as: CYYZ-CYAM/CYAM-CYQT/CYQT-CYYZ etc. I do it this way so it shows that they are all separate legs and not one big x-country with say CYAM and CYQT at fly over way points. I applied for my A's last year as well and got my log ...
