In terms of the reduction of piston accidents I would be interested to know if there was also a reduction in actual flights for the year.
I suspect that with the ever higher cost of fuel and maintenance that one of the reasons accidents are down is that few people can afford to go flying.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I think your diabetes will severely hinder you. I don’t know the difference between the different types of diabetes but I do know that it’s one the main reasons people get their medical pulled. Did you let your doctor know you had diabetes when you got your aviation me...

Re: Looking for my float rating
I did mine at Airhart this summer and loved it. I'm thinking of going back and doing the 50hr bush course with them. I hear the Okanogan lake stays open year round so you should be able to get some training in.

Re: How to crate and ship a plane overseas?
I briefly considered flying the plane there. It would take between 65-105 hrs as a rough ball park guess. I am a bit of a daredevil and have been know to go on very adventurous flights however this time I’m reluctant. Flying the Atlantic to western friendly Europe in a single engine plane would be a...

How to crate and ship a plane overseas?
I need to crate and ship a Cessna 182 float plane. It needs to go from Vancouver, Canada to Vietnam. I can probably find a mechanic to pull the wings off in Vancouver and reinstall them in Vietnam. Which shipping company should I use? Any idea what the cost might be to actually ship it? What sorts o...

Hey Bobby, I'm in Vietnam at the moment, and have spent time here in the past too, never seen anykind of Chrater Ops. I've been thinking about some helcopter work here, as my Wife works here a few months a year, and they're ALL State run, or Military. It's a no go - for now. I have a feeling things...

My wife is from Halong and we have thought about Phu Quoc Island. But she isn't aviaition savy and I haven't spent any time in Vietnam to know the actuall situat...

How to operate Canadian Registered aircraft overseas
I’m mulling an idea to operate a 185 or 206 on floats overseas in Vietnam. I’m wondering what some of the obstacles might be. Such as, if the aircraft is Canadian registered does it need to be maintain by a Canadian AME and to Canadian specs or would it have to be maintained by a Vietnames aircraft ...

[quote="CID"]Yes, but I would expect the pilot to conduct him/herself in a professional manner. The issue could have been resolved by explaining the issue calmly. [quote] Sounds to me that the captain was very calm and his response was appropriate. He didn’t say “Sit down and shut the f@ck up.” If a...

Engine overhaul after a prop strike, is it manditory
I've heard that in recent years TC has changed the requirments for overhaul after a prop strike. Basically any prop strike no matter how minor requires an overhaul of the engine. Is this correct?
