Yes, that’s been going on since the advent of ski flying.

Different strokes for different folks…

What you decide to wear is between you and I suppose your fellow crew members.

Re: ATPL Application process tips

I’m getting ready to apply for my ATPL however half my time is from a former company as a copilot on a single pilot aircraft. My logbook has been certified by my old CP but doesn’t say that the hours were completed in a 2 crew environment. Is this necessary? I’d submit it. Assuming you logged those...

It is time for the Canadian firebombing industry to change and pull themselves out of the stone age… every operator in the US now offers rotations and double what Canada pays. One US based operator starts out DEC Captains at 185K USD and 3 weeks On/3 weeks OFF, albeit for a longer season. One Europ...

Better than most 604’s but we aren’t talking about a 604 op here…

I’d be embarrassed ro fly a -12 or a 350 at that rate. A Q400?

You all need to give your head a shake.

The market has changed and so few ops have followed the trend.

Challenger CAPT based in KFXE starting pay $250K Converted license to FAA in Jan, Visa finally came through in June. 20 on / 10 off. Must be nice, but that’s not relevant to Canadian aviation Nice flex on your part. (Who are you trying to rub your shit rag on though?) Glad it’s worked out for you s...

It’s shit pay. No disrespect intended to either companies mentioned but they are accountable to their execs (owners) and the respective salaries are haven’t changed much over the years. I’m genuinely surprised that the « good guys » haven’t started squeezing the owners for better pay in order to ret...

Here come the armchair critics. Can’t anyone say the instructor, and especially ATC did an amazing job here? Hold on there Rookie, This ain’t no *arm chair quarter back girl* routine… you already know that a mile back on a 3 degree CDA that she should have been at 300’ AGL not 1500 feet* ASL/AGL is...

Perhaps local noise abatement rules. I found her power settings transmissions over the radio quite counter productive as well, perhaps even outright dangerous. Do you really want an overloaded, panicky student focusing on an RPM gauge? Then again, the pilot did land safely eventually, and the instr...

Gents, I would respectfully say that the debate about lines, box etc and what have you is a moot point. It’s all about situational awareness. Akin to many other incidents… there was a lack or lapse of situational awareness and or of airmanship. «George doesn’t that look tight? I’m not sure I trust t...

Am I the only one a bit confused why her instructor wanted her student to be vectored to be on a 1 mile final at 1500 feet? I must be missing something….

I ask because I don’t see a point for Yyc when there is barely any flying yet a lot of staff, with the majority being deadheaded to yvr or when able sent to temp bases in yyz or yul. Temp bases are done, and are no more! And they won't shut down a base and risk people quiting, which would happen on...

Controlled or uncontrolled airport? Uncontrolled. I don't think that would be permitted at a controlled airport, as a 2 min separation would be enforced in this case. You can waive wake turbulence separation in some situations at controlled airports. I know that I have done it before but don't reme...
