Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share
Air Canada just offered to the EU concessions on 27 routes including 13 out of Montreal. They are doing all what it takes to close the deal. Have a reference on this? I would like to read that Out of JM Eustache’s mouth to the media yesterday after the meeting, you can find a copy on the internet.

Air Canada just offered to the EU concessions on 27 routes including 13 out of Montreal (which were identified as problematic regarding the competition). They are doing all what it takes to close the deal.

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share
I mentioned this in another post however is it just me or does the merger seems pretty negative for anyone with a future desire to go to Air Canada? An even larger list of recalls to get through before hiring is even considered. A career outside of Canada looks even more attractive now than before....

Re: Cargo TA
Come TS get your facts straight. You know the payscales at AC are better using guaranteed minimums..At least recognize that... No doubt your payscale is way better; just want to point out that if you count the drafts etc. we too have pilots making huge numbers. Even as we speak we have some pilots ...

Re: Cargo TA
600k+ T4 is the norm for 10 year AC pilots? he's a troll. Top pay scale at AC (on the 777) isn't even 300K, yet TS now sits at 237K. Double or triple yeah sure  AC pay scale isn't annual, but I don't think there are any WB CAs that did under $300K last year and NB guys all do 200+ easily...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share
Ok so the liberals will approve it because AC really wants it? AC really wants government aid too but the government has dragged its feet even with a political angle(protecting jobs vs the trade off of the public hates the airlines). So what is the government's motivation to approve? Remember the g...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share
What AC wants is irrelevant to approval. Like I said the federal liberal government needs a political angle to approve it against the competition report. There has not been a single one put forward to that end. So again why would the liberals approve it? And yes many joke on here about the integrat...

Re: Cargo TA
I red the whole thread and the other one talking about merger and I think we all know what the ac guys think about it. I think we all get it. But it seems like the transat guys are more quiet about how they think it should be done. Just curious if anyone from the ts team would lile to share on what...

Re: Cargo TA
Europe is crumbling and no one wants to venture there. Canadian industries are being hit harder and households cannot afford the visit the folks in the old country. You may be living in a bunker at the moment, but for info all TS flights to Paris are full in december, people are travelling to Europ...

Re: Cargo TA
If you were a nice guy I might be sympathetic to your jeuevenile tantrums. When you find time away from your video games take a look at the situation in the EU. They have every right to reject the the proposal as it stands now. Europe is crumbling and no one wants to venture there. Canadian industr...

Re: Cargo TA
Anyway it’s all contingent on the EU approval. I’m sure our former Prez will be trying to block it for the benefit of AF. EU will approve the deal as AC just submitted concessions to make it happen. At the end EU will never prevent a transaction between 2 Canadian companies. As AT shareholders will...

Re: Cargo TA
The merged group of approx 4800 will have around 3500-4000 jobs to fight over. Perhaps. Not sure about AC, but any TS pilot deemed a surplus in those numbers has a 10 year recall period I believe? Nobody will be jobless because of this merger. A few things to consider. Those 4800 pilots inside of 3...

Re: Cargo TA
I'm not familiar with the details of this TA, but it seems like it's a concession in order to diversify flying? My question is, how long is the agreement good for? In a couple years tops the industry will be back to normal growth, but will pilots still be laboring under the terms of this TA, made i...

As a couple others have stated. This can easily be any of the thousands living off CEWS or EI from any of the 705/704 etc. So what if they pursue this van lifestyle, many are moving towards the mini-homes due to prices of houses and the lack of pay. As another poster stated, most of the original Sw...

Re: New Protest to Save Canadian Aviation
The 14 day quarantine is preventing people from flying. Why are US airlines bleeding? Why are European airlines bleeding? Emirates is flying DXB to LHR basically empty. No quarantine restriction in the US, Europe, or Middle east but still these airlines are burning millions per day. Ending the 14 d...

Re: New Protest to Save Canadian Aviation
I’m working 5 days a month on average. I don’t know why the public should give money to organizations with a workforce that has basically three times as many pilots as it needs. That’s a tough sell. I also don’t see how the public should give money to corporations that don’t have a plan for profita...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share
What is the wording on the percentage of Transat flying conducted by Air Transat in your scope? As was pointed out also, a not insignificant part of Transat AT flying was done by other airlines, not Air Transat... Westjet, Canjet, German wet leases, TFWs, etc... how does that work? I'm also curious...
