Re: Research Points to Low Risk for COVID-19 Transmission Inflight
Stop. These facts go against the panicdemic fear mongering narrative that the 24 hour news cycle perpetuates. Into the memory hole it must go. All ranting aside this goes to my experience. 3 flights since March 2020 and me and my family are healthy. But we “could” be asymptomatic. And our numbers “m...

Re: Buying vs Renting
Why yes Dar i totally agree with you. But as a guy of a certain age gets called out by a child that has some issues taxiing a plane without hitting a fuel pump i take umbrage at it. Besides with all my bandying about i am sure my hurtful post will be deleted by the moderators to keep anyone from fee...

Re: Buying vs Renting
I bought a 172 in 2016 for $23000 canadian with 20 hours dual. Flew it for over 400 hours in four years cost me a grand total of $6000 in annual costs and a few upgrades. Sold it this July for well over $35000. I flew whenever I wanted for as long as i liked and did four provinces in it. But i was ...

:) libs, greens, cons, this becomes a dangerous game of them vs us that leads to scenario like the US of A. No matter what the bloody party is. Every party has pros and cons.We need a strong leader with a BACKBONE, that is also compassionate and has the vision to lead Canada into eternal glory as hi...

Re: Private aircraft import
God. Would it be worth the trouble to import a plane at all? It would have to be some smoking deal. Is a plane that is 30-35% more in Canadian dollars more economical than any other Cherokee that may be for sale in here in canada?

Re: Another Crash in BC
GPS trackers are “fail-safe”. They leave a trail of breadcrumbs that ends when the unit is destroyed or electrical power is removed—and it’s likely going to be close to the crash site. That's fine for super wealthy elite 1% guys. What about us po' folk? Those units are like a hunnerd an fitty bucks...

Re: Flight training with masks?
I didn’t claim to be an expert i just stated my experience with 30 years in the field. Understood. You're a brave soul who won't be told what to do. You still didn't say what makes you skeptical of masks. Nothing, I guess. In my field. We put masks on sick people to keep them spreading the virus. N...

Re: Flight training with masks?
Wow. Sorry to trigger the meltdown of society. As i stated i do not see the benefit of a home made dirty sewn mask made from a piece of cotton. I don’t claim to be an expert, unlike all the armchair epidemiologists on here. I didn’t claim to be an expert i just stated my experience with 30 years in ...

Re: Flight training with masks?
Sewn masks? Cloth masks? Maybe we should just pull our shirts up over our faces? Not a fan of a mask and due to what I do as a first responder can not see the benefit of one. Maybe some responsibility on the personal level? If you’re sick don’t get into a confined space with another person. That inc...

Re: Annoying pilot "friends"
you must live miserable lives. I can't imagine ever being annoyed cause a guy I use to work with talked to me about looking for work. I mean Id hate to waste 5 minutes of the 3 hrs that you're gonna spend watching tik tok. Pilots suck at being people My thoughts exactly. Not a lot of altruism on he...

Re: RCAF reserve as a second job
You may as well give up on the cadet program. This summer’s training is cancelled. No gliding in the fall. And next year’s programs will more than likely be chopped too. My son got his glider wings las summer and had the ppl scholarship awarded to him only to have everything end. And anything we’ve ...

I came across from Kamloops BC to NS last week. We flew the Toronto Corridor at 1400 feet the controllers were great. We could have gone lower. We then flew to CYRO with flight services. No worries straight into the CYRO talking to the Ottawa terminal. We had no issues coming or leaving the next day

Re: Hanging up the headset... anyone done it ? Anyone thinking of it?
Why has nobody, as far as i can see anyway talked about switching to a job for Nav Can as a FSS or a controller? Is it that hard to get into? Are their age limits on applying. Hell i have 30 years as a firefighter and i am 51. I’ve thought about a change to FSS or something similar lately.

Re: A Twist on Medical
Of course a more interesting questions is what kind of pilot someone who would lie to his doctor and employer to skive off work for months on end would make. Ahh I knew it would come to this. Thank you for everyone else prior who were understanding. If you knew how horrible and morally corrupt my b...

Ya gotta love the goberment and their so called safety standards. It was a violation to fly without a valid medical and a safety violation where ”lives were at risk” 6 months ago. But today a stroke of a pen and presto we’re all just ok to do what we did. Oh my god the hypocrisy. And we all just go ...

Re: TC COVID-19 Exemptions
Anyone wondering how and if they have an actual plan to deal with the inevitable backlogs this is going to create. And how we will be able to fly when it already took over three or four months on a good year to get stamps, endorsements, ownership transfers. I remember in 2016 it took 195 days to get...

Seeking Checkout in 182 and Mountain pilot for ferry
I am looking at purchasing a 182 in the Mountains of BC. I will be picking it up hopefully in the next few weeks. I would like to find a flight instructor that would be willing to do some check out training with me and accompany me across the rockies to the the foothills region of Alberta. I am hope...
