Re: Air France 447 Reported Missing
Heck, the locals are so 'expert' they've been promoted to the rank of moderator on an industry specific forum for an industry in which they have no first hand experience. But I digress, I'm sure she stayed in a holiday in express last nite, so, is quite capable of solving all the worlds problems in...

Re: Air France 447 Reported Missing
shit, we send people to the moon on a regular basis Better go do some reading on that one. People haven't been to the moon since 1972. 7 manned missions, 6 were successful. You are right, my bad...should have said "into space"...I was just making a point, thank you for pointing that out for me. ~FOX~

Re: Air France 447 Reported Missing
It's so unfortunate that things like this happen, I feel sick to know that a lot of people (very likely) have lost their lives. My thoughts go out to the families and friends of all those people. I also wanted to say something else. After reading through all the posts in this thread I find it really...

Re: BAe Maintenance Portal
Hi W0X0F, I work for Integra Air in Lethbridge and we run two J31's. We've had the exact same feelings towards BAe and their ridiculous portal and their "customer service" invoices. We are currently grouped together with a lot of other companies around the globe in an effort to nip this in the bud s...

Re: Maint. Manuals
MANY MANY I repeat MANY private owners have original or out dated manuals that they use for maintaining their a/c. Just to point out the obvious...just because people do it doesn't make it legal. I speed in my car all the time. All maintenance performed on an aircraft has to be done in accordance w...

Re: Does anyone have a second job or career, own a business?
I design, build and host websites in my spare time. It works out well for me because I can make cash money doing it, and because I don't have the overhead that many companies do, I can do it for a bit cheaper as well. Plus it's a completely different type of work then aviation.

Re: Good deals on paint shops?
I do agree with waiting until the budget fits a proper paint job. However I thought I would share with you some places I know about. 1. Clynes Aircraft Refinishing - Red Deer Alberta - They do a decent job but don't know anything about the legal aspect. Planes are allowed to go through there and lea...

Re: AMS (Aircraft Maintenance Systems) Tracking Software
I just found out that Winair has come out with an answer to what AMS was trying to do. They have made a stand alone product that you purchase and there are no monthly fees, etc. It's clear they've realized the error in their ways. The purchase price is around $2500.00 so no where near the $15000.00 ...

I was trying to figure out why a bunch of clowns would be carrying hockey bags...all those big shoes and puffy clothes, I guess you gotta put them somewhere!

Re: AMS (Aircraft Maintenance Systems) Tracking Software
There are a lot of bugs in the programming, plus it pretty much requires someone to be maintaining it 24x7x365. But my favorite part about them is they sell you the software for $15,000 and then when you find all the bugs they won't give you the newest version because you don't pay them the addition...

Does anyone else use this system where they are? I would love to hear your opinion on it. I use it and I think it's a worthless piece of shit, but that's just my opinion.

There hasn't been a lot of change here for payscales, we've always been competing with Calgary so the payscale is usually matched to Calgary.

I was just wondering if anyone actually reads this on a regular basis, and if so, do you read it online or is there a printed newsletter available somewhere?

I know some major sports teams share the same jet. Earlier this year in Edmonton I saw the Texas Rangers / Dallas Stars jet on the ramp. It was kind of cool, it had the Rangers painted on one side and Dallas Stars on the other. I actually thought it was a smart idea sharing a jet, spreads out the co...

I was there Saturday and you needed snowshoes to go anywhere...taxiing (a Pilatus) was fun as taxiways weren't plowed (Southerners and snow - geez)...we walked to Katana Kafe. lol...that's funny. It sounds like you're saying they are inexperienced with snow. I lived in London for many years and wor...

This may be good news for the Leafs. Thank you both...I laughed out loud for almost five minutes...I needed that today. :) Plus jus...
