Re: Southwest Pilot + Stuck Mike + Pilot Rant = Suspension

As a matter of idle note, the interception, divulging, and rebroadcast of this rant is an offence in Canada, as would acting upon, or using any part of it, and it would also be considered a "broadcast" in Canada, which is prohibited under the Radiocommunications Regulations. (Broadcasting is of cou...

Re: Southwest Pilot + Stuck Mike + Pilot Rant = Suspension

It's an offense to swear on the air ... No longer true, in Canada anyway! It most certainly USED TO BE an offence under the Radio Act of Canada (and the associated regulations). Profanity and numerous other categories of transmissions were prohibited. However, this act has been superseded by the Ra...

That's an easy one. What if you're in such a serious accident that it knocks your helmet off? If your chinstrap was done up, your head would go with it!

Re: Repost - near CFIT in Bonaza while filming a L-39

With damage to the wing tip and a dent in the wing, shouldn't the title of this thread be CFIT? There doesn't seem to anything near about it! I wonder how many nights it took to stop waking up in a cold sweat.

Re: Ice Pilots of NWT Series on History Channel this Fall!

It seems that Joe is faced with the same issues as other business owners. Likely wouldn't have made great TV (except perhaps the day he quit) but is still an interesting read. Also shows what pilots were paid at Buffalo in the 90's http://onlinedb.lancasterhouse.com/images/Decisions/2001/January/NTS...

Don't see a pooch myself. I do see a very disciplined response to a loss of power. Trying to stretch the approach would likely have been worse.

They were only using one door. Had there been a fire the escape slides on the other doors would have been used.

Re: Lost Pilot Log Book - What to do???

Have a look in the CARS. There is a section on statuatory declarations. I misplaced my log book and wrote a statement that said I had ~ total time with x as PIC y dual, etc. You then declare it in front of a notary (I used a lawyer friend of mine) and keep it with your new log book. I eventually fou...

Re: What do you do when...

There are new rules with regards to meds for depression. It is NOT an automatic life time grounding. 6 months of stability on meds and in many cases you can fly again. An attestation every 6 months by your MD for a PPL or regular visits to a psychiatrist for a commercial, can get sufferers back in t...

My DC 10-60 has been great since I got it in 2006, only problem was a blown earseal which is easy to replace. Good feature on this one is the cable disconnects from the headset so you dont bend it too much when you wrap it up. Been thinking about the zulu as it seems to be the general opinion that ...
