ALPA has nothing to do with it. The contract was arbitrated. Plus the union is only as good as the people you vote to represent you

From what I gather you can get an open work permit for the same amount of time you were studying in Canada. One of my friends came here on a Visa and after flight training came to work up North with me on a Visa. He didn't need to be an instructor

If they changed the pay on the first 4 years to be more or modified flat pay to 2 years, would they retroactively pay those who did the full 4? Otherwise I don't see those guys passing their vote. That's not really how it it works. And if those people vote no, they're hypocrites. If Jazz all of a s...

Re: China, whatever his name.
I do now see a trend and wonder what Johns angle is. Theres no way someone would put that much of their own time and energy into something like this without an attempt to gain. What is that angle? Where is that gain? Is he pissed off that the company will be closing the loophole in their agreement ...

Re: Are we entering another recession?
The fact that a group of pilots are so actively talking about a recession means to me, we probably aren't quite there yet. Actually amusing thread to read. Almost amusing as a financial guy talking about aviation Last I looked I've been a pilot too for more than a decade -- but hey nice try! What's...

Re: Sky Regional Direct Entry Captain Posting - What a Joke
It's not just driving the truck. While it's just a little single axle truck and all you need is your airbrake endorsement you need to be able to pull a 200 pound fuel hose into people's backyards, and do that about 30 times a day without spilling a drop, that's why the pay is good. Most new guys qu...

I flew medevac and a simple “we are beat and not doing anymore trips tonight” was all it took The rhetoric on here about how the poor 703/704 pilots are so hard done by is ridiculous. I flew 703 like most everyone else. It's not hard to turn down a trip, or say you're too tired. I did it multiple t...

Re: Sky Regional Direct Entry Captain Posting - What a Joke
I made 15k more than that last year driving a truck. 90K a year to drive a truck? Or more? How come I can't find these jobs on the internet. Agreed, pay at Sky is out to lunch though. It's not just driving the truck. While it's just a little single axle truck and all you need is your airbrake endor...

Don't forget Sky pilots fly like 80+ hours seat time. Compare that to 50-60 at Jazz the pay might be better but be garunteed you're sure going to work for it.

In my case I came to Jazz with experience and an Atpl for two main reason. Number one was because of the quick upgrades and number two was for a chance at AC. I took a risk and it didn't work out for me as upgrade times have slowed considerably. I am now looking at another 2-3 years in the right se...

Re: AC New hires please us your WB bid
You are an idiot if you can't at least own a small condo and a car if you make at least 50k. People always want to go for the newest Audi and the brand new 350k condo with heated fucking staricase handles and Picasso paintings on the wall. As a pilot you should excel at planning. Hint hint...... fi...
