Re: A220 cruising altitude

From what I've heard the tolerances are VERY small. You only have a few seconds above 94% N1 before the engine has to be borescoped prior to it's next flight AND if they find so much as a tiny little something that engine is DONE and it needs to be replaced. Companies probably did the math and figur...

Fatigue rules for pilots that increase cost and decrease flexibility do not buy votes.

Re: Camera’s in the cockpit - watching YOU

The day we make cameras mandatory in operating rooms among other places to reduce the thousands of people killed each year in our healthcare system than maybe i’ll Entertain the idea of cameras in the flight deck. Never mind the fact that there isn’t a public body that identifies and investigates me...

Re: What bases and routes do you think the A220 will have?

Rumours that the 220 may go to YUL first. Who knows, at this rate the YYZ 190s may not retire as planned in spring of 2020 if the max grounding drags on.....

Re: What bases and routes do you think the A220 will have?

https://canadianaviationnews.wordpress.com/2019/01/15/air-canada-studies-dozens-of-potential-a220-routes/ Long thinner routes, current Embraer flying and routes currently served by the A319. I read YVR-BOS and YHZ-YVR among others. It flies 1000nm further than the E190 so the possibilities are very ...

A small update but nothing really new. From the sounds of it the exit was in worse condition than the runway and the wind helped the poor folks along.

Re: Chorus/Ggn/Sky merge

Won’t happen And the disappearance of GGN as an a Express carrier was not going to happen. GGN was going to get CRJ900’s and expand. That WAS the AC plan. Wonder what changed? I will go with 50/50 that there will be just 1 Express operating certificate within 24 months. What just happened? In the j...

Full disclosure, I went to AC on PML 1.0 and have no skin in this game. Having said that in my MANY years at Jazz I heard A LOT of ridicule about AC and the Canadian merger, the "lawsuit" and ACPA screwing others to better itself and how in the end it ended up sinking the whole industry. Now the Jaz...

Yes, all these orders and ALL THE ORDERS ANNOUNCED since the Airbus majority buy out were negotiated by Bombardier and had been worked on for YEARS. Airbus more than likely demanded they be announced after the buy out in order to pad the Airbus order book. I'm sure there are others pending, all nego...

If Air Canada made Wide Body F/O the same status (get off flat pay) as a narrow body captain they would have no problem crewing the 777/787. To elaborate, if you bid widebody f/o it would get you off of 4 year flat pay just like going captain gets you off flat pay. I KNOW it will never happen becau...

I actually would never call a person with opposing political views a name. Having an opinion opposite of one's own does not merit insults. Unless you are the leader of said opposing political party who makes and enacts policies which, in my opinion, are detrimental to the country. I read a few years...

Since the original post opened right away with the usual bipartisan political horseshit, I didn't bother reading the rest of it. I think you misread my post. Bipartisan means unbiased or co-operation between opposing groups. Partisan means biased and since I and many Others don't believe a word jun...

Maple Flag Canceled

Since the budget won’t balance itself the only place Liberals know where to cut is the military. 10 years to study new side arms, replacing old fighter jets with the same aged fighter jets and now this. I’m sure the list will grow. Update? Modernize? Nice try Trudumb. Postponement of Exercise Maple ...

Heard from another AC guy that the Express carriers have instituted a 2 year minimum wait before going to AC to stem the exodus and staffing problems. Not official though.
