Re: East Coast Airways

Seems like the classic case of putting the cart before the horse. It's too bad Integra is attached to all this bad press, hopefully it stays out east and doesn't have any negative effect on them.

Re: PT6-27 snapping?

Coehill: The torque measuring system (gauges) on your Twin Otter is powered by AC electricity. So is the fuel flow measurement system. On the other hand, the T5 measurement system, the propeller speed measurement system (Np) and the gas generator speed (Ng) measurement system are all self-powered, ...

I see Transport is hiring inspectors, for anyone interested:

The wage doesn't seem to bad, not to mention the pension.

Re: PT6-27 snapping?

Does the "snap" sound anything like an electrical arc? could be an ignitor box or other ignition system related failure? Thinking it is most likely to fail at high altitudes while pulling lots of power.

Re: East Coast Airways

Interesting, I didn't realize there were J41's in Canada before, thanks for telling me. Has anyone actually applied to this company? It shouldn't take long to see if it's a real company or not, I doubt some "16 year old kid" would actually talk to you on the phone, and a company wouldn't have much c...

Re: East Coast Airways

For what it's worth I know the for sure they are in the process of buying at least two or three Jetstream 31 and possibly a Jetstream 32. I cannot confirm the J41 or EMB120, although if they are buying a 41 it would be the first one in Canada. I've been told they are looking at an early Oct. launch....

Warner use to work there back when I started there over 6 years ago, he use to be known as "ALAME" on here but changed his name. Anyways back then there was talk about how checks had been bounced, mostly from him, but for me I never experienced the problem in the 5 years I worked there. He may have ...

Re: Good AMO's to work for??

Integra Air in Lethbridge is hands down the best company I've ever worked for. I would still be there if I could work rotations, I just wanted to move out of Lethbridge. It's one of those companies where you feel like you are heard and that your opinions matter. The owner of the company is impossibl...

Re: Problems with Paint Job

Sorry to see that. Those fish eyes are directly caused by either poor prep work or a poor paint booth, both of which you are paying for (either directly or indirectly). I would ask for those areas that are fish eyed to be taken down to the metal when "touched up". Tell him he can call it whatever he...

I have a feeling this won't be of any help, but it brought back some memories for me, so I thought I would post anyways. I started my apprenticeship there 12 years ago when Richard and Sharon owned the place and Jeff was the AME there. For me as an apprentice it was really good, Jeff made it a reall...

Re: What do you expect in terms of wages/celery

Wow, so far only two people bothered to attempt a serious answer. I've been thinking the same thing as you Casey, for a while now. People seem to do nothing but bitch and complain about how they should be making more money, blah blah blah. It's growing old. Is it obvious to anyone else, other then m...

Just out of curiosity. How many people got into this career expecting to make big money? Also, what is a fair wage in your opinion?

How many operators operate their single engine turbines on condition ? How long can you run a single engine turbine past TBO ? Or can you run them to destruction like a certain unnamed float operator   That's a good question. I know we ran our PA31T on condition by using trend monitorin...

Re: AME career

During my ten years in this industry I've generally found my wages to be fair and my quality of life to be above average. There have been many times where the stress level was high and the responsibility was more then I cared for, but luckily I was quick enough to realize it and do something about i...
