Re: AC pilot salaries now?
CR has an agenda. It is not with ACPA. Not with CUPE. Not with IAM. Not with UNIFOR. Not with CALDA. It is with YOW. Maximum pressure. Force industry tailored assistance. There is nothing that CR wants from the AC unions other than support for that agenda. Bingo. He wants the cash to keep the compa...

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
The second provincial and national restrictions ease this summer, it'll 'take off' and it'll happen quickly. Sure there might now be requirements for this and that to get on an airplane (temperature checks etc). Within hours of the US border opening it'll jump as well. My predictions (for Jazz anywa...

Thats probably in there to dissuade some of the 'laid off' FO's and junior captains from showing up, flying for a month and a half and running back to Jazz/Encore the second the industry spools back up end of july or august. A promissory note or bond for a beaver? Shows the level of candidate they e...

Cal apparently told the GS that started today, that they will be the last one until this international crisis comes to pass. Its gonna be a huge game of catch up when it all blows over in a month or so. I was honestly looking forward to some blocking averages that were't 87.5hrs a month! But I guess...

If I were you, I wouldn't be doing that at all. Taking up some friends and splitting the cost? Sure.. advertising flight seeing? Nope.

Just to add to the mix, I've taken off in the Q with the weather at the destination being SKC and forecasting SKC and getting there (13 mins air time) At minimums! I also can't count how many times I've done YEG-YYC and had it go from pretty nice to Cat 2 and Cat 3 approaches enroute. Still, if you ...

Re: Seniority level at each base
There are YUL Classic and YVR Q400 captain spots going under a year. You'll need a valid ATPL for the upgrade or no dice.
The bottom few numbers don't have a very good quality of life, and in YVR you'll be on reserve mostly sitting in the right seat!

Re: Proposal for Canada and Australia to share water bombers
Jazz wouldn't have near the cycles of a scooper, nor the time spent in turbulence. Most of the classic fleet is at or around 70,000hrs and similar number of cycles. Especially the ones that live out west doing multiple YCD's, YYJ's and YQQ's all day long. 365 days a year. The Tankers fly how much??...

They nixed the Camper/RV/trailer thing at the jazz lot.
There was indeed a couple guys with Boats moored very close by.
Also lots of people doing the discreet airline crash pad/spare room thing if you look around..

Currently the 737 MAX is not flying. I may be wrong, but it is unlikely new hires will be offered positions on it until after it is flying again. You will be assigned an aircraft and position and base in your initial ground school. Dependant on Type and base, you can expect a very mixed bag. Most li...

Re: New hire bids
2020 will be another year of incredible amounts of movement and hiring at Jazz. Assuming the country still has any ATPL's left that want to work here. . Plenty of ATPLs, but no calls back, so i'm assuming people end up applying at other companies. flyingb Plenty of ATPL's just none willing to live ...
