Re: American Express (Premium Plaza) Lounge will now require a boarding pass
It's irrelevant who or what company. It was a pilot and it looks bad on ALL of us. This. I think justwork is referring to the additional cards you can add to your account for 200 bucks. One account, 10 cards at 750+(200x9). It is hard to argue a refund becuase how do you put a value on the lounge a...

Re: American Express (Premium Plaza) Lounge will now require a boarding pass
it is absolutely demented to me that a pilot would ever think they're not a scamming the system. You pay a couple hundred bucks for a CC and expect free meals. When clearly the intention is that the card be used by the travelling public not pilots who have a quick turn, every day, all the time, alwa...

Re: Air Canada Rouge EGPWS warning at Huatulco
Oh and one more thing, every single airplane driver in this world knows that there is such a thing a minimum radar vectoring altitudes that the controller knows at any given place but you may perhaps not, since they are not published on jepps. So clearing an airplane to 6000 feet east of Hualtuco d...

Re: American Express (Premium Plaza) Lounge will now require a boarding pass
I always thought it seemed a little obvious that the card and lounge was intended for people that were travelling and not people looking to get a cheap snack while at work.

Re: Is this a good reason for a high speed RTO?
A rejected take off at that speed is a tricky thing. They had to be close to V1 which means it was a very fast decision to make. Below V1 and any question as to safety, why not reject? The plane can take it. Or hum and ha and then be above V1 and now you've you're committed and potentially wishing y...

Re: China the Aviation Mecca? Think again.
On a related theme - I don't know anyone and haven't met anyone who works in China and makes the kind of salaries advertised. I do. Something to remember is that Hainan group is Massive. As far as airlines, I can name a few they are affiliated with: Capital Airlines, Hong Kong Express, GX airlines,...

Re: Airline Gender Pay Gap: BBC Report
If I ran an airline I would only hire women. Women office, women ramp workers, women flight attendant, women pilots.... Think of the competitive advantage!!! So, that was a joke. What I am proud of in the airline business (at least Canadian) pilot pay is set by position and seniority - sex has nothi...

Re: Cockroaches?
So I've noticed in a few recent posts that many Canadian pilots seem to be eager to flee Canada for "greener pastures", such as the US where pilots refuse to work for crap pay, maybe instead of being a importable cheap labor, might it be a better idea to just fix the industry in Canada instead of b...

I went to BCIT. Now I live in Moncton. Weird.
Also, I have no idea what sort of school supplies would cost you $16K. I rented from CFC after I graduated from BCIT. I always liked it there.

Re: Lets talk about SOP's
The key is knowing when adherence to SOP's is required and when it is not. Lots of people fail at that in both directions. No one side is always right...or wrong. Interesting. Give me an example of when adherence to SOP would not be required. I believe Swissair in Halifax, or St. Margarets Bay to b...

Re: Wasaya caravan missing
A plane could fly into the side of a barn ... It's not a CFIT like that, if control is long lost at altitude, .. where this case the pilot seems to be convinced everything was right from his own perspective at the time .. right from getting up in the early morning up to getting into the trouble mid...

Know when to say "No". They may not have known exactly what they were getting into ( based on previous experience success ). what happened to the other You mean "128" .. the returned plane ? The parameters of 128's flight are used for the investigation (TSB Report), so the person at the helm of thi...
