Re: Georgian Interview
I'm also a YYC based Georgian pilot and am quite happy with it. I will agree that the walk can be quite long from the parking lot. In all seriousness though Georgian is a great place to work. $28K/year... Living in the most expensive cities in Canada (less Halifax)... Doesn't get better tha...

Another favourite. Get ready for summer boys & gals. Tard' boaters are already littering the harbours.

Air Canada cancels some flights amid pilot protest - Apr 13
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2012/04/13/air-canada-pilots.html Big Rouge dives further down the shitter. Air Canada began cancelling departing flights early today amid reports that some pilots were expected to call in sick in protest. By 7:45 a.m. ET, about 30 flights had been cancelled, mai...

Helicopter style headset for Fixed Wing use?
Interested to know if anyone here uses heli style headset for aeroplane use. I like the coiled chord that seems a standard for heli headsets, but, i am curious to know if the headset itself and/or adapter (single prong to two prong) causes interference or reduces the quality of noise canceling (ANR)...

Taxi Cab drivers UNIONIZE! Pilots?? Take notice.
A step in the right direction. Well done! Shame on us! http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/03/13/taxi-unions-canada-labour_n_1340051.html?ref=canada One of the most promising — and unexpected — union organizing drives in Alberta in recent memory got its start on a frigid evening in February 2009, with...

I imagine there would also be a ridiculous bond to go along with that "extraordinary" wage.

What happened to the recent posts on this thread. Were they censored? I don't think they were inappropriate in any way. Any moderators care to elaborate please and thanks? Perhaps one of the mods here works for Georgian... I guess voicing the opinion that an FO's salary is in actual fact - a povert...

Re: The long down winded spiral of Instrument Time
When you are IFR and the weather is good, where are you looking? You still need to follow the airways or your 'direct to' and you do that how? Instruments! You get the prize for that correct answer. Any different when you are in cloud? NO! Ever tried to do an ILS by looking out the window? Do the l...

Re: What's considered low time for floats on the West coast?
250 - 500. .
Anyone on the west side of the island:
Tofino Air, Atleo, Air Nootka, & Air Cab.
West Coast Air used to be one of the bigger firms that picked up fellas with low time (really low sometimes), but has since scrapped that policy after HA bailed them out.
Good luck.

Re: Quitting float flying for the IFR world
Don't listen to anyone who says you stayed on floats too long. I had close to 6000 hrs on floats when I made the jump to the IFR world. Your low level, low vis experience from the float world will put you head and shoulders above the other f/os who came from instructing or working their way off the...

Quitting float flying for the IFR world
Anyone here have recent success in jumping ship? I know in most cases it's an extreme pay cut to venture from float flying back to the wheel world, but are there any avenues or companies out there who make this process less painful? All ready to go - ATPL's written, IFR rated, +3000 hours (practical...
